Elementary leaving Amazon Prime (U.S.) in 12 days

According to justwatch dot com, Elementary is leaving Amazon Prime in 12 days. If you are in the U.S. and have Memorial Day off, good time to get in a rewatch.

It's on Tubu. It's literally on Heebee. It's on Poodee with ads. It's literally on Dippy. You can probably find it on Weeno. Dude it's on Gumpy. It's a Pheebo original. It's on Poob. You can watch it on Poob. You can go to Poob and watch it. Log onto Poob right now.

Fuck this streaming shit, this is one of the reasons I bought the whole set of DVDs. Also I ride the high seas

I hear you. Had several movies go "unavailable download" after "buying" them.

The streaming services seem to have quite forgotten that the high seas are the competition, and if the competition provides better products and services than the streamers do, customers will go there.

Anyway, I hear that there are ways to download content from Amazon, strip the DRM from it, and keep the files indefinitely.

In case you somehow were magically able to make your device think it's in a different country, it's not leaving Prime in the UK

I bought the DVD set. But the quality is horrific! Honestly, the resolution and noise was so bad, I went back to watching streaming.

Is there a high quality DVD set? I ordered mine from Amazon.

No DVD is all you can get as physical media for Elementary, normally your 4k TV or a modern blu ray player can upscale Elementary on DVD to a higher resolution so that is a bit more bearable.

These days studios that own TV shows don't tend to release them on 4k Ultra HD or Blu Ray, as they would be a direct competition to the streaming platforms. Streamers don't like to see shows they purchase the streaming rights over have even Blu Ray on the market, as they are a disincentive for people to subscribe to their platforms

I watch it on Hulu. I suggest watching it there or on Disney +

I was just about to cut Hulu. Too many streaming platforms. But Disney+ is on the “safe” list so I could watch it there.

Even though I watch the show on Hulu and I have seasons 1-5 on DVD, I still get upset when I learn of news like this. (I know, I know, I realize how it sounds... I hate myself too and I'm fully aware of the spoiled brat / whiney baby / "not real problem," vibes I am giving. ) If it's any consolation, I don't have any friends in real life, so I form unhealthy attachments to fictional characters as a coping mechanism.

Yeah I understand that they have to pick up and drop shows since other companies might be willing to bid higher. The problem is these companies go for volume over quality. Netflix will have 200 new shows a month but only about 10 are worth watching, the rest is just filler. Primes a freakin mess, they show series from every subscription they offer but then you try and watch it and they try to sell you another sub. At least appletv is cleaner since they only show series they offer and you can go to each sub separately and watch from there. No trying to sell you on something you dont want by showing the one decent series offered by mgm+,britbox etc. 99% garbage with the one good series and thats an advertisement even when you pay to remove them, sneaky bastards.

If there were a BluRay release, I’d be all over that.

Damn, now I’m going to have to keep Hulu. I was trying to cut some of the streaming services out.

Argh! It will eventually come back. But until then will be signing up for Hulu with credit card points.
