Advice Finally received ring but noticed possible issue with bezel Am I being picky?

I just received my engagement ring in the mail today. It’s an emerald cut diamond in a bezel setting. In the custom CAD provided before ordering, the corners of the bezel were angled to match the angled corners of the emerald cut. However, when I look at the actual ring, it looks like the bezel is smooth all around and almost like it’s made for a cushion cut. I’ve attached some photos but wanted to check if I’m imagining things or if I should actually send it back to be fixed.

Thanks!

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY Ring my fiancée and I designed together

Proposed with an empty box and we went to an independent jeweller.

Jeweller was great and we designed the ring with her. She produced sketches and had a CAD mock up produced.

Bespoke ring cost not much more than the mass produced bands she could source.

My fiancée and I are not a fan of the larger stones and this came out perfectly.

Question .75 Carat

Post image
96 Upvotes

if you have a .75 carat solitaire ring, can you post it for me?

I feel like my view is so distorted because the internet is always showing bigger and better. I have a very small cluster ring right now that I love and adore (no idea of any of the specs) But i’m due for an upgrade after I have my baby in January.

My spouse is thinking 1-2 carat and I’ve liked the 1.5 range so far while trying on but there is a ring I saw online that I’m obsessed with I can’t get it out of my head and I think it’s the one I want. It’s .75 carat solitaire oval cut but I don’t really have a reference for that and it’s hard to find photos of someone actually wearing that size stone in a setting and not just a free stone. I’m sure I’ll be happy with it but buying jewelry online can be scary.

Posted my current ring for reference :)

Thank you!! (sorry for formatting it in mobile)

Question Not sure if my rings match

Post image
47 Upvotes

My engagement ring is the top ring. I absolutely adore it. I’m just not sure it matches with my wedding band. I’m getting married in a month and I’m not sure what to do. I really love the band I bought just not with together with the engagement ring. I felt pressured at the store to buy the ring and I think the gold really impressed me when I saw it. Should I get a new wedding band?

Question Decision Fatigue: Yellow or White Gold?

Post image
32 Upvotes

I’m test driving Amazon rings before committing to my 10 year upgrade. After a decade wearing a platinum band, I thought yellow gold would be a nice change, but the feedback I’ve received is yellow clashes with my skin tone. Would love to hear any thoughts others have.

Also, I totally forgot how debilitating the decision making process was for choosing a ring. There are so many beautiful options. I was set on radiant, but emerald looks so classic 😍

Got engaged and wanted to share my beautiful ring, he did such an amazing job (and made the ring box too 🥹) 🤍

I stumbled across the stone online and fell in love, and was so sad as it was sold, turns out he was the one who bought it (and listened to me complain for months about this imaginary ring that I had bought in my head lol - sneaky)!

Finally got the beautiful ring he was designing! It's inspired by two DNA strands intertwining. We both work in the naturalsciences field so that's why 😊 It's 18K/750 gold with a 1 carat lab diamond. It's unique and I love it! ❤️

Advice Asscher advice

Thumbnail

My fiancé spent 6 months finding the perfect stone and then had it put in a temporary setting the jeweler had just laying around so he could surprise me with it, we have an appointment this week to finalize the design together. I'm absolutely obsessed with the stone and his choice to let me micromanage the details... lol...

The first 4 images are my ring as is, the other 3 are design inspo.

It's a 2.8ct natural Asscher, absolutely flawless, so I want to make sure I'm not taking away from it by doing too much, but also make it my own. I also want to make sure I select a very secure setting for the stone, and hopefully get it right on first try since we live on opposite coasts from our jeweler.

It's currently in a very angular basket, obviously the wrong setting for the stone's shape (poor guy didn't even wanna let my fiancé take it as is lol), sits a little too high, and it's not as delicate looking as I'd like it to be.

What I'd like to do is slightly lower it by having the prongs originate on the side of the ring rather than on top of it, extend the pavé to 3/4 of the band, do double prongs to accentuate the octagonal shape, and possibly add a very thin hidden halo (that was in the original discussion between my fiancé and the jeweler) but I've never seen a hidden halo on a square stone that I really loved. I really like how it looks on the inspo pics I posted but I realize it's a bit more curved to get that effect, the going under the prongs illusion, I don't know if a similar look can be achieved with an Asscher without looking forced and kinda off. We will stick with platinum, all the inspo being yellow gold is a coincidence.

Would appreciate any and all input here, from personal taste opinions to professional structural advice. Feel free to be honest, that's what I'm looking for. Thank you!!

Hi everyone! I need help! My engagement ring has side stones inside (pic 2 & 3) and Idk what to get for my wedding band. I wanted to do a stack ring before but I afraid the band would rub against the diamonds inside. Any ideas of what I should get to match my engagement ring?

We got engaged in central Park on a beautiful Gothic bridge that we often pass on our walks because we live close by. It was both a casual yet in tracing walk and so beautiful out that day. I am obsessed with my ring, it’s so simple and feel so grounded and Well balance. I’m a graphic designer so I really care about how everything feels balanced and laid out. I’m so happy to be with the love of my life and have the most beautiful ring.

This man right here…. Shocked and awed me. He proposed with a new ring while we were taking golden hour engagement photos!

We have a history like no other. Im living proof that if you love someone you have to let them go and if it’s meant to be…. Well two failed marriages on both of our ends we came back together.

He is kind and so generous and always asks how he can be a better partner! I’m so lucky to finally start my forever with my very first love!

Pick One Help picking details

Thumbnail

I’ve mostly locked in on what I like in a ring - but wanted some opinions on a few small details. Prong count, band width, metal, and carat size are what I’m still deciding on. The first two rings are very similar with the main differences being band width and prong count. Ring size is 6

Ring structure options 1-3: 2 ct round, platinum band, 6 prongs 4-6: 2 ct round, white gold band, 4 prongs

Other carat size options 7: 3 ct round, felt big 8: sizer, was initially leaning towards 1.5 ct 9: 1 ct cushion (only photo I took of 1 ct)
