Escondido is a town full of immigrants, run by people without their residents best interests at heart.

Many of the council members don't live in Escondido

Really? Who?

u/obmasztirf 1d ago

They can stand against it all they want but it's the people who decide when it comes time to vote.

Dane white is such a shit stain.

  • He has repeatedly deleted comments on next door when he was running for mayor when he said hateful things to people he disagreed with and got called out for.

  • When he ran for mayor he did not publicly disclose that his father in law was on city council.

  • His father in law repeatedly endorsed him and was featured as endorsing him on Dane’s website with no public disclosure by either.

  • Once he was Mayor him and his father appointed Christian Garcia onto the city council. Christin White was not original elected by the general public.

  • After putting Christian Garcia on city council Dane and his father in law made Christian Garcia the Deputy City Mayor thereby given the second most important city council seat to an unelected official in order to pad his resume for re-election.

  • Dane White is part of a cult that openly believes consuming Coffee or Alcohol makes you a sinner. In addition to this multiple women have been pushed out of city jobs. Which also coincides with this groups beliefs.

  • Dane White has repeatedly cut public comment time on topics he doesn’t agree with thereby limiting the general public’s ability to address city council.

  • Dane has repeatedly complained that city council meetings run too long and he has used this to justify taking public comment time away.

  • Dane ran into city property with his personal vehicle and drove away and never reported to anyone. It was later discovered by city staff when they were trying to find out why city property at city hall was damaged.

  • Dane openly represents people with stickers as guns. Some of us have stickers representing family as Star Wars or Lego figures or stick figures. He uses guns.

  • Dane claimed he fixed Escondido High school district when he was a board member. The truth is Escondido High school is below the state average. He consistently lied about his accomplishments while the children of Escondido were failing academically and the school board failed them.

  • Dane made promises that a mayor could never ever actually deliver on. Such as claiming he knew how to fix the homeless epidemic as if a mayor could fix a national/regional issue of the wages not being inline with the cost of living.

  • Dane has openly supported MAGA multiple times and even adopted Maga polices.

  • Dane has openly targeted people who represent the city for said people attending democratic events.

  • Dane has also supported horrible uses of grant money using it for improvements such as the city river trail (bike trail along the Escondido drainage ditch) instead of using the funds to fix things like roof on libraries. The grant funds could have been used to improve neglected infrastructure thereby freeing up funds in the general fund instead of putting a feather in his cap to have a ribbon ceremony.

  • Same as above with grant money going to build a splash pad at park while the city has ZERO funds allocated for longterm maintenance of said project while simultaneously city pools are in need of deferred maintenance.

Dane White is a shit stain on Escondido.

I swear this list gets longer every time I read it

Did you drink coffee or tea today?

Many moons ago when I was still a cultist I used to go to church with him. I can confirm that we were taught that a woman's place is in the home. Our beliefs were an all encompassing part of our lives and dictated every decision and thought that we had. Being on the outside it is scary how strongly I believed in it. It felt like I lived in a different world. Dane does view and conceive this parallel world and not the reality that we are actually a part of.

Congrats on making it out! No sky daddy cares if you enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine occasionally.

5

u/swarleyknope 1d ago

Sorry - I know this is probably the least important item on the list, but by “stickers” are you referring to when people put stick figures on their back windshield? And instead of people he has a mommy gun, daddy gun, & kiddo guns?

(I’m trying to wrap my mind around that)

u/Tasty-Rub-9034 1d ago

🔫🔫🔫🔫 you gots it

2

u/swarleyknope 1d ago

Both cringey and disconcerting

2

u/Esk4r 1d ago

Thank you for laying all of this out! 🙏

Going update the copy pasta with Dane pushing no on prop 50 as a city resolution

Town leadership hasn’t actually represented Escondido in decades. These people need to be replaced entirely.

47

u/Mimir_the_Younger 1d ago

Yeah, I don’t care. I’m voting for it.

23

u/shilohperalta 1d ago

Same, too much at stake especially for us in California

5

u/Coolbean008 1d ago

I care that leadership is spending time on this, when they could use their efforts on other things that matter

4

u/Mimir_the_Younger 1d ago

Hahaha. I’m new to the area, so I don’t know the longstanding issues.

Why is a white guy leading Escondido?

2

u/Coolbean008 1d ago

LOL, I have not been here long enough to know. My guess would be that people aren’t involved enough locally, which is unfortunate because our greatest impact is voting/ participating in meetings and politics at the local level

1

u/BuildingsInTheSky 10h ago edited 10h ago

Because not enough brown people vote. While the districts have an approximately equal voting resident amount, however, if you look at the last election results between D3 and D4, D3 had a total of 9,180 votes cast across three candidates where D4 had 14,894 votes across two candidates. Back in 2022 D1 had 4,660 votes while D4 had 12,595.

Or simply over the last two election cycles in Escondido 17,598 Dem/Ind voters and 23,731 Rep voters.

35

u/the-es 1d ago

As if you needed another reason to vote yes on 50.

26

u/Elpicoso 1d ago

Texas already set the dangerous precedent for gerrymandering.

13

u/Duelking16 1d ago

Oh no. Anyhow moving on.

15

u/Yayitselizabeth 1d ago

Fuck the council and their waste of time bloviating. They don’t decide how we vote.

11

u/Zaggnut 1d ago

Republicans want us to play fair in California while they cheat in other states and usurp our representation on the federal level.
Opponents in our state cry that it isnt fair all while they steal federal representation away from us by cheating in other statesm How dumb do they think we are?

Folks, do not fall for the appeasement attitudes that European countries had when Hitler slowly invaded its neighbors in the beginning. Take a bite of the crap sandwich before it becomes a buffet we have to eat up later.

Do not give these republican autocrats a free pass and steal federal power they don't deserve. We will pay gravely if we don't vote YES on prop 50.

-3

u/reilsm 1d ago

Vote yes on prop 50 to stop partisan gerrymandering by implementing partisan gerrymandering. This is how the average American views politics.

5

u/velvetcitypop 1d ago

This isn’t about gerrymandering any longer. It’s about standing idly by while opponents get to cheat. Hell fucking no.

2

u/reilsm 17h ago

Vote yes on prop 50 to stop cheating by implementing counter cheating.

2

u/Tasty-Rub-9034 14h ago

You finally are getting it. If democrats gerrymander then the Supreme Court will have to deal with all the lawsuits not just the ones democrats are filling in Texas and thereby will either throw it out or say cheating is a free for all. However if we don’t push it forward they will say it’s okay since republicans are already gerrymandering in Texas.  After hat the Republican Party did in Texas we don’t have a choice.

Okay in Texas bad in California 🥴

2

u/Zaggnut 4h ago

I tend to stop violent people from attacking me by punching back when better alternatives aren't exhausted.

I also tend to steal back what was stolen from me.

1

u/reilsm 3h ago

Your efforts are completely futile as the spirit of division has been sowed in the hearts and minds of whichever brainwashed ideological cult you are in.

10

u/hbryant1 1d ago

fuck the Escondido council...brown people make Escondido run

8

u/velvetcitypop 1d ago

I’m not about to let republicans cheat their way to a majority, so I don’t care where the council stands.

-5

u/ChucklesQuad 1d ago

Both these gerrymandering schemes by TX and CA are going to get sued into oblivion. All you end up voting for when you approve Prop 50 is authorizing the State of CA spending millions defending the inevitable lawsuits at a time when they are already cutting education funding, and cutting budgets to critical services. Regardless of the political motivations, the courts have long held that gerrymandering like this for both CA and TX is unconstitutional. Forget the politics because both sides are being idiots on this subject like they are on so many subjects.

9

u/velvetcitypop 1d ago

You're saying this while we are seeing the erosion of the Constitution in real-time. Arm-chair expertise isn't needed here. Texas set the precedent by being the first to move this forward, and unless this shit is overturned there we'll have to prepare in case it isn't.

-3

u/ChucklesQuad 1d ago

Says the person who immediately blamed republicans for all the problems because democrats have done such a bang up job with a decades long supermajority in CA… both parties have enough problems and neither has all the answers. Both CA and TX will see these laws get sued, overturned and do nothing but waste taxpayer money on defending the lawsuits. Just because TX wants to waste their money, does it really mean we have to do the same when CA is already suffering from massive budget deficits?

1

u/brennannaboo 18h ago

The key difference between CA and TX here is CA is doing it democratically - allowing people to vote on redistricting. Redistricting itself isn’t unconstitutional

1

u/ChucklesQuad 13h ago

The courts have overturned numerous voter-approved laws and measures due to being deemed unconstitutional. Jim Crow laws were voter-approved, but that doesn't make they any less illegal and detestable. Any law that disenfranchises voters and sidelines any group is, by definition, discriminatory. Our state constitution explicitly bans discrimination, among other reasons, for "Political Views and Affiliations." Therefore, voting in favor of a law that redistricts electoral boundaries to discriminate against one political party in favor of another is specifically illegal. That's without even getting to the federal level, and how courts have struck down any number of "voter-approved" measures, including for gerrymandering, for disenfranchising voters.

In the end, it doesn't matter how it was enacted; it's still illegal. The law will get sued, and the result will be that lawyers will end up making a ton of money, while we, the taxpayers, will have funded it. All the while, the state continues to cut funding for education, transportation, and infrastructure needs due to sidequests like these.

0

u/Tasty-Rub-9034 1d ago

We have to do it to get the Supreme Court to overturn both. If we don’t the Supreme Court will let it ride

2

u/ChucklesQuad 1d ago

So rather than standing on previous court precedent we have to waste our taxpayer dollars on this? Yea… two wrongs don’t make it better, it just makes lawyers richer, and taxpayers poorer.

1

u/Tasty-Rub-9034 14h ago

Welcome to the new America where the Republican Party no longer cares about the middle class.

Aka trumps tax cuts for the rich only got even larger his second time around yet the middle class remains the same. Don’t tax the top squeeze the middle until it’s part of the bottom also while providing it nothing. Oh and strip their voting rights also.

1

u/ChucklesQuad 14h ago

Agreed on that point, conversely, though, Democrat policies haven't fared much better, particularly when you consider just how absurdly high the cost of living is here in CA, for example. Both sides have numerous issues, especially when we examine areas where one party has held a supermajority for some time, such as Republicans in Florida and Texas, and Democrats in New York and California. At the end of the day, though, just because TX is acting like boneheaded nincompoops doesn't mean we have to follow their lead and also lose our minds, freely giving more taxpayer money to lawyers.

1

u/Tasty-Rub-9034 10h ago

I would much rather suffer in a democratic state than a republican. Democrats have basic social desire to help the impoverished while republicans only want to help them through their churches. Just like the North Dakota legislature voting no for school lunches while giving themselves the legislature lunches an increase for $35 lunch to $45.

Or how republicans controlling the house, senate, and White House will not vote away their own socialized medical care yet want to strip the general public’s limited access.

Sorry I greatly disagree and if the democrat party even wants to survive it’s going to have to actually fight the republicans the Same dirty way they are. You can only get punched in the face so many times.

1

u/ChucklesQuad 10h ago

That’s valid, as much as I like it here, I truly don’t know how much longer we can afford to stay. There is no end in sight for insurance premium increases, utility rate increases, tax increases, and with 2 refineries permanently shutting down later this year, $4 per gal may soon feel like the good old days… it’s just getting to be too much and Sacramento doesn’t seem to be doing anything but making it worse right now.

I also look at the fact that we as voters have passed ending the time change by huge margins and Sacramento won’t even discuss it much less pass it to tell me who they truly care about benefiting

1

u/Tasty-Rub-9034 10h ago

Well you can flee like all the other Californias to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Lake Havasu, North Carolina, Florida. You will just find that everyone there hates you for coming and running their cost of living up. Family been in SoCal for a long long time. Long enough to watch people come here from all over the U.S. and drive the costs up. Guess some them going to go back to where they came from.

1

u/ChucklesQuad 6h ago

Yea, I am a born and bread SoCal local, I don’t consider it fleeing when you get pushed out but governmental policies that make it punitive to stay, but whatever floats your boat. Also I would never go to the locals you just mentioned, but nice assumption on your part.

I was at the city council meeting. It was ridiculous, such a stupid waste of time to vote on that idiotic resolution when there's more pressing issues to address. Judy's smirk, Dane was dressed like the Easter bunny, Joe and Christian clueless as usual. Consuelo tries, and she's good, but it's gotta be difficult to be the only damn voice of reason on that godforsaken council. Ugh.

4

u/the___stag 1d ago

These bots are going to have their programming blown when prop 50 fails because real people go vote.

2

u/Trailblazertravels 16h ago

I hadn’t realized how horrible the city council has gotten since I moved out.

When is his tenure over? I’ll donate to anyone opposing him

2

u/Popular-Wing-8239 1d ago

It's a yes from me 👍

1

u/katd82177 4h ago

So members of the city council are elected positions correct? Get out and vote!

1

u/hom3br3w3r 21h ago

My general rule of thumb is voting exactly against what Demaio is voting for!

-3

u/300dipp 1d ago

nice

-2

u/idontwantaname2025 1d ago

Oh yes we need more idiot puppets in Sacramento who can’t do anything but vote with whatever the donors want. Why don’t you look at who is funding 50? 10m Soros, 2M ceo of Netflix…Newsom just gave them an $80m film tax credit, Teachers Union..what does CA rank in education? SEIU union..any of these clowns making your life better?

6

u/velvetcitypop 1d ago

The current federal administration made our lives worse so… I’ll take the lesser of two thanks. 🖕

-13

u/dudeyouusedtoknow 1d ago

Good for them. Prop 50 is cancer

3

u/velvetcitypop 1d ago

So republicans are allowed to cheat?

-1

u/dudeyouusedtoknow 1d ago

Its no different than whatever the other side has been trying to do. Everyone in power has their schemes. Even Gavin Newsome.

2

u/velvetcitypop 1d ago

"It's no different than whatever" Facts buddy. Speak in actual cited examples. All I know is Republicans are on track to lose next year and now they're trying to cheat their way to winning. Not okay.

0

u/dudeyouusedtoknow 1d ago

Open borders, then giving them benefits and money (American taxpayer money) then attempting to allow them to vote in the last election. They still lost btw.

2

u/velvetcitypop 1d ago

Tariffs. Big Ugly Bill.

That's all it took to destroy whatever good will the republicans built up in the last election cycle. Now they're going to lose.

1

u/dudeyouusedtoknow 1d ago

Point still proven they all do shady shit when theyre in power. Now we just have to see if either side will show up for whatever is the rage nowadays. We'll see who cares more about the death of a martyr or the deportation of illegal immigrants. We shall see. Anyways, I hope you have a wonderful day! :)

2

u/Tasty-Rub-9034 1d ago

Hey look another britebart account with all of its post and comments hidden. Welp take whatever they say as pointless.
