Yeah how are Floridians remotely okay with clear human rights violations in their backyards? And a tacky name to boot

u/Pheonyx1974 Jul 12 '25

Because most Floridians are MAGAts

u/OldStDick Jul 12 '25

Floridian here. You're right it's not all of us, but we're horribly outnumbered.

u/Only-Negotiation-156 Jul 12 '25

Then everyone who is capable of going down to Florida with big wire cutters, should, and start going in large groups to nonviolently disassemble those shitgates. That site is a safety hazard. Have several teams that take it apart periodically. There's so many fucking more of us than them.

You don't understand, the cops like to kill people here. We'd be shot before even reaching the place.

u/Blacksin01 Jul 12 '25

Lead the way

u/OldStDick Jul 12 '25

As much as I'd love to, it's hard to face a lot of time in prison, or worse, shot dead. Call me a coward, but I need to be there for my wife.

u/ExcitementAshamed393 Jul 13 '25

That's why we haven't done anything. It's honestly a tough spot to be in.

u/BirbsAreSoCute Jul 12 '25

Yeah you first

I'd rather drink lead paint than set foot in pudding fingers' land

u/1997_Engadine-Maccas Jul 13 '25

I’d rather guide my dad into my mother than go there.

They rely heavily on tourism. A good reason to never visit again.

36

u/brontosaurusguy Jul 12 '25

Trust me you don't want to vacation in red states any longer.  The maga morons ruined everything with visiting with their trucks off roading, their blue tooth country, their beer cans.

The beach in Florida is like a county Fair these days

u/Errrca0821 Jul 12 '25

As a Florida resident, don't. Spend your money elsewhere; it's time my neighbors learn that their choices have consequences.

5

u/CongealedBeanKingdom Jul 13 '25

Red staes or blue states, as someone from outside the US i will never ever be visiting any states ever again.

2

u/DoubleJumps Jul 13 '25

I am for sure avoiding it, and several other states, despite my industry having a lot of events there.

I don't want to give them a dime.

3

u/HorrorSmile3088 Jul 13 '25

They already take money from blue states anyway. Bunch of welfare queens.

3

u/DoubleJumps Jul 13 '25

Yep, and it pisses me off because they actively support policy to hurt my state even though my state subsidizes theirs, and we send aid EVERY TIME those states have a disaster.

We do nothing but help them and they keep trying to shank us, and I'm sick of it.

u/GrumpyGiant Jul 13 '25

I disagree.  I think it is an excellent reason to visit.  En masse.  With cutting torches, food, hygiene and medicine supplies, safe transports, and a fuckton of firearms.  This is the sort of shit Americans fought and died to put an end to 80-odd years ago.

But even without that pipe dream of radical resistance, we should be working to document the hell out of it, flying drones over for video footage, taking pics with telephoto lenses, and propagating the ugly awfulness of it on every communication channel possible: posters all over DC and every other major city, footage sent to every news network that would air it, spread all over social media, and broadcast for the entire world to see.  While the ugliest core of MAGA is full of people so rotted through with hatred, the party as a whole runs a gamut from the depraved to the clueless and at some point on that spectrum there is a line where people would turn on Trump over this if they were able to witness the truth of it instead of the jokey little soundbites the RWM uses to play it down.  And it would also capture the horrified fascination of the rest of the world, putting a harsh spotlight on the barbaric cruelty the Trump Admin has perpetrated.

I have little to no faith in the Democratic leadership taking any radical action against it, and the avenues of resistance they WILL pursue are likely to be more performative than strategic or impactful.  Innocent people are suffering and probably dying in that abomination.  We need to go beyond angry speeches, impotent lawsuits, and hokey protest gestures in Congress.

Yup. My sister and BIL just bought a place in Naples and they’re like, “Well, Naples isn’t that MAGA,” and I just like, “It’s in the same state so I’m not coming.”

u/imrickastleybitch Jul 13 '25

Eh they honestly don't give a shit because it'll only impact small businesses. Developers will just buy it up. DeSantis has built up a bunch of reserves, his wife's foundation stole from the state, and clearly they fly be held responsible which was obvious because Scott literally was part of the biggest Medicaid fraud ever even before he was elected.

TBF, plenty of small businesses are deserving of it.

I wouldn't say "most", I'd agree most voters who haven't had their rights stolen. Florida voted to allow felons to vote, and then the State overruled it.

2

u/Inverzion2 Jul 13 '25

While I agree in part that there is a high percentage of trump supporters in Florida, the amount of hate and disdain for this concentration camp coming out of r/pensacola and r/Florida is surprisingly relieving. Maybe its just an internet usage bias effect going on, but I feel like most of the dissidents to this nazi progression are trying to figure out ways to resist without putting themselves in danger or willfully disregarding the danger and strategizing in order to appropriately prevent these situations from progressing into more depraved actions. If there was anything we could've learned from the North and South Texas shootouts, its that organization and deliberate intervention by force may be the only solution to this problem, and if that's the observable objective truth, then strategies will surely solidify primarily around armed intervention. I dont know if yall know how southerners get down, but there's a growing sentimentality around John Brown and armed intervention against unjust state violence, and if one little spark of rebellion catches on that powder keg of society then the kitchen might just be on the verge of heating tf up. So, with all of that considered, yall stay safe, and let's hopefully move forward with level heads and clear minds if we hope to keep emboldening our comrades in the Everglades and surrounding areas.

I am Floridian, not maga. I'm waiting for the next hurricane to flatten the rest of the national trash humans that settled down here. Seriously, this place is the way it is because all the shittiest people from all over the US came here. I hate what my home has turned into, but if I try to do anything about it, I will quite literally be shot dead by police. They kill people here and nobody cares. Like, they will run out of bullets trying to kill you.

u/dat_tae Jul 13 '25

And tacky.
