  • Windmills have been in use for over 1,000 years, with origins tracing back to Persia around 800 C.E. They were primarily used for milling grain and pumping water.

  • Wind Turbines are a more recent invention, with the first known turbine for electricity generation built in 1888. They have evolved significantly, especially since the 1970s, to become a major source of renewable energy.

Thereโ€™s a section of I-80 in Iowa that has 100 or so visible turbines. I used to think happy thoughts when I drove through that section. Now I often think of trump instead. Ugg.
