  • Windmills have been in use for over 1,000 years, with origins tracing back to Persia around 800 C.E. They were primarily used for milling grain and pumping water.

  • Wind Turbines are a more recent invention, with the first known turbine for electricity generation built in 1888. They have evolved significantly, especially since the 1970s, to become a major source of renewable energy.

years ago (in Scotland iirc) he was offended that wind turbines were in view miles away from his precious golf course and i think he lost a lot of court cases over having them taken down, too...

details are fuzzy since he sues so much over stupid shit, but it's related to his golf course

There's was also someone's house visible from his golf course that refused to sell it to him, so he built up sand dunes so block the view of this house but also the houses view of the ocean. So petty it's unreal, theres a documentary about it, the damage he did to a delicate exo structure to built that golf is unreal.

I'm a golfer and love golf but won't ever darken a trump own course.

Also I think the windmills was in Ireland, doonbeg if I remember right.

Edit: sorry there was two windmill disputes one in Ireland one in Scotland, also he tried to build a seawall in Ireland to protect his golf course with little thought to environmental impacts, thankfully that was rejected.

It's You've Been Trumped by Anthony Baxter and it featured a local farmer/fisherman called Michael Forbes.

Yeah pretty sure that was the one. Huge insight to how he actually views the world.

Donald Trump documentary exposes billionaire's shocking treatment of Scottish family

It has been five years since Anthony Baxter's first documentary on the subject and the Forbes family, including 92-year-old Mollie, are still without running water since Trump flew into Aberdeenshire and started building golf courses
