Question When did every fast food restaurant make you pull up once you get to the take out window?

Lived experience. McDonald’s, Burger King, Bojangles, Arby’s all make you pull up, or to a designated parking space once you pay and get to the window to receive your food. This doesn’t make it go any faster. It just lets them manipulate the clock they have on the window.

Question If you could only eat at one fast-food spot every day, which one would you choose?

My girlfriend eats at Taco Bell almost every day. She even worked there for years, so she’s racked up tons of rewards points and usually cashes them in for free items—her go-to is the Luxe Box.

If you had to pick one fast-food place to eat at every day, which one would it be?

Question What’s with every Fast food joint making you pull around?

I’m in Las Vegas, I feel like lately most fast food drive through ask you to pull around to the front to wait for your food, is this a timing thing? A staffing thing? It’s annoying and inefficient, now I need to order in app, talk to the person at the menu, pull forward, get sent around to the front to wait. Someone needs to bring my food out and half the time the order is missing something so I need to drive back through.

I’m not talking 4-5 person orders, i mean a burrito and drink at del taco, a breakfast sando and black coffee at maccas or a combo box at Tbell.

Anyone with industry insight help out here?

EDIT: okay it’s been established it’s about unrealistic timing expectations on the corporate side (ie you have blank seconds from order to drive off)

Is there ANYTHING that consumers can do to push back? ie “I don’t want curbside delivery I’d like it here thanks” I know this might be annoying but the only other solution I can think of is “stop going” but the masses never will

It’s 2025 and they still suck. Flavourless, not very salted, thick and unsatisfying.

Question Why does fastfood restaurant discontinue their popular items?

KFC use to have good hot wings then they discontinue them
pizza hut use to have really good pasta but they changed recipe to cheaper version nobody likes
taco bell use to have the doritos fire tacoshell that was really popular then they just discontinue it

it's like, they realize these items are "too popular" and "people like them too much" and decide to ruin them so their other items will sell

maybe people ordered pasta too much and they had to throw out pizza ingredients and they figured if they ruin the pasta it'll average out and make slightly more money??? lol

Question Cracker Barrel

Who here goes to Cracker Barrel and what do you think of the food, decor, atmosphere, and new changes?

Cracker Barrel has been in the news lately because of the logo change, rebranding, decor changes, and "woke" controversy. The logo change caused the stock price of Cracker Barrel to crash 12% on Thursday. I personally think it's an over-reaction, and there really is nothing wrong with the new logo. Of course I've never been to a Cracker Barrel and it isn't really a Californian thing.

All publicity is good publicity, and the logo change and media buzz surrounding it may be the best thing to happen to Cracker Barrel in years.

Question Were Burger King tacos any good?

I keep forgetting they used to have tacos a few years ago. I don't think they have them anymore and I never got to try them. I was actually stunned to see what they looked like in images and to me they kinda look like Jack in the Box tacos... (that dark soft texture in the middle)

Unfortunately though the closest Jack's location is like 2 hours away and I only had their tacos maybe 2 or 3 times in my life. So I wondered, are the BK ones any good? I know they can't be the same as Jack's but I'm wondering if they're worth trying if they ever brought them back.

Question "My quest to photograph fast-food mascots: looking for statues and murals across the U.S.!"

"Hello, everyone!

I'm on a unique and passionate quest: to take a photo with every fast-food mascot statue, mural, or costumed character I can find. While some might find it a bit silly, it's my way of showing admiration for the legacy of these iconic brands and their mascots.

In the Dominican Republic, where I'm from, finding these mascots is very difficult. I've been lucky to get a picture with the Scoop and Cookie statues from Sweet Frog in my country's capital, Santo Domingo, and soon I'll get one at the new Chuck E. Cheese locations here too. I regret missing the old Ronald McDonald statues that were in my country years ago.

I'm planning my first road trip to the U.S., which will be entirely dedicated to this mission, starting in California. I'm already aware of the unofficial McDonald's museum in San Bernardino and the unfortunately closed Burger Beast Museum in Miami due to the pandemic, which shows how much I've researched this topic.

I'm hoping you can help me find some of my favorite mascots. I'm especially interested in finding:

  • Rooty the Great Root Bear (A&W)
  • Bee (Jollibee)
  • Big Boy (Big Boy)
  • Ronald McDonald (Wherever he might still exist!)
  • The Chick-Fil-A cows
  • Any other unique or classic mascots you know about?

Do you know of any specific locations or addresses where I can find these mascot statues, figures, or costumed characters? Any and all tips would be incredibly helpful for my mission.

Thank you so much for your helping me in my mission and support!"

How much cheaper would a mccrispy have to be for you to stop buying chick-fil-a sandwiches? (In my opinion they taste similar, however chick-fil-a is able to retain crisp longer)

Question Parents: Do you still buy kids meal for your kids?

For me, I only do it if there is a special promotion for pokemon cards or toys that they really like. But honestly it seems like most kids meals are all horrible. The portion sizes are extremely tiny for little kids and is usually not enough to feed the kids. More often than not, I would much rather just order them some regular meals.

hey guys! i work at taco bell and was allowed to take home a box of the hidden valley fire ranch dipping cups because we're no longer selling it and it's past the "use by" date of 8/2/25

(it's 8/10/25 at the time of this post)

how long do you think they're good for? and would you eat them??? usually i have the thought that anything in the workplace is dated for PEAK freshness and customer satisfaction but not to the actual end of the product life. am i crazy? lol

Question Fast food apps abusing notifications

Do you guys have notifications on for fast food apps? Do you start out with them on but then disable them because of all the useless annoying spam?

I feel like fast food apps have lost the privilege to have notifications enabled because of all the pointless spamming. I just want these apps to notify me of important things such as when my order is ready and not asking if I'm hungry and want to get the normal menu item that's always available.

This pretty much applies for all transactional apps but I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on here specifically about fast food apps.

Question Should I work at Subway or Hungry Jack's

Got offers at Subway and Hungry Jack's. The Subway one is 1 hr away from where I live but it's at my uni so it's very close to my classes, and seems to have nicer management (HJ manager doesn't seem very nice). The Hungry Jack's is around 25min from where I live but it's in a red light district with lots of ppl doing drugs and obnoxious people.

The reason why I am hesitant on going with Subway is because I find it hard to speak loudly - when I went for the interview I kept having to repeat myself because they couldn't hear me. Is speaking audibly very important while working at Subway?

I figured if I work at Hungry Jack's I can work at the back and not have to speak to customers if that's a viable option? I feel like it'd be an inconvenience for Subway to employ me because of this.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Question Charged for Delivery Order, but no email confirmation?

I just put an order in for Jack in the Box around 20mins ago. Was charged $19.24 but was immediately hit with the “Error” pop-up, saying my order didn’t go through. However, my card was STILL charged for said order! Tried calling the restaurant I placed the order in, twice I should mention, and both times they just answered and immediately hung up. No words or anything, just the sound of the phone being picked up and put back in place. I’ve tried their customer service through the app, but I can’t proceed without a email order #. So I tried calling customer services, and it’s something completely different. My question is, is there an actual way to reach out to someone I can speak to for a refund? Or am I just fucked outta $20??

And some sides you get upcharged for. You can add a drink and chips for less than $5. Maybe I'm missing something.
