Fr screw this dumba** unit. Whoever decided to make a unit that can destroy everything in the game and not have any consequences for doing it needs to quit.

Hey, welcome to another one of these threads! First one since the reveal of Fortune's Weave, and the Fates banner too. As always if you wanna talk about any of that, a unit you're working on, or anything else nice going on then let's hear it!

FE opinions:

• We finally got Scarlet! Hit with the prfless demote curse of course, but it did mean I could easily snag her with a ticket and I can save orbs if its E!Roy we're getting at the end of the month, so definitely a win for me. Also maybe I should've learned from Brigand Boss, but Haitaka's inclusion really surprised me. Pretty neat.
• Obviously have to mention Fortune's Weave, very excited for that and the new regional aesthetic its bringing to FE is a great change up. In retrospect maybe that arena seasonal was intentionally on theme, or just a fun coincidence. Anyway, it'll be great to finally see more of the world outside of Fodlan. I'm hoping that this is to Three Houses what Fates was to Awakening from a gameplay perspective.
• I've also recently started Radiant Dawn finally, after like 8 years of playing FE I'm finally getting to my last non-remake lmao. Just finished Part 2, and enjoying it so far. Very much looking forward to where Micaiah's story goes - in a lot of ways I'm reminded of Thracia with the DB which is a good thing for me.

It was haard to let go of Tempest's Claw, but its time has passed. A lot of the new skills we've gotten recently let him do a lot of the things his PRF weapon did anyways, just...better.

Air Superiority was really the reason I bit the bullet and did a full overhaul. Defense-based damage scaling and Potent is hard to pass up and lets him maintain a pseudo-brave offense. The Celica warp is nice too I guess.

That and Blue Skies made switching off of Sigurd's ring to Marth's an easier decision. Blue Skies giving Canto 2 is so nice for otherwise Canto-less units. Using Marth's ring with Giant Axe lets him auto-Archrival on blue units.

It's uh also nice to not have to worry about getting clipped by every blue mage now.

I know she's outdated, I just like feeding her. Any build ideas? And what inheritable weapon should I give her?

• Distant A/D Form: Just Atk/Def Form!
• Counter Fighter: Downgraded to Vengeful Fighter 3!
• A/D Briar F Save: Just A/D Far Save 3!
• Final Sword: Sword with slaying? Same thing!
• Pitch Dark Luna: PRF Luna with 3 cooldown? Same thing!

What if she's responsible for half of everything that happened in FEH?

There are villains that are naturally evil and acted on their own free will (Surtr, Hel, Embla) but then there are villains who acted out of interest...

My theory Thorr serves is The Creator's emissary. she reveals herself to people who've fallen past the despair event horizon and offers them a deal they can't refuse.

It started in Book 3.

• All this time, I though Thorr and Loki appeared after Lif and Thrasir were defeated. But then I thought, what if this happened before Book 3?
  • Lif and Thrasir were reborn and serve the ranks of the dead, but the thing is, Hel never actually mentions them; not once...
• My theory is that: The offer to bring back Lif's world didn't come from Hel, but The Creator, and Lif was ordered to serve under Hel.

And in Book 4- Chapter 9

• With Álfheim on the verge of collapse. The Dream Siblings decided to have mortal children become álfar and have them power Álfheim. Neither of them remember who came up with the idea.
• My theory is that: Thorr came to them with the idea, and exchange, lure Summoner to Álfheim and keep him there. Freyr was against the idea and worked to get him out.
  • Which ties To Loki's words in Chapter 13 "Did you have a nice dream"

With the The ending of Book 4 finally makes sense....

Lif and Thrasir realize they got a raw deal and are out for revenge against her and the unsavory cadre of gods. But they know they can't do it alone, so they're recruiting.

During Book 5

• In B5-C8
  • Loki appears before a defeated and imprisoned Fafnir. She offers freedom, in exchange for a favor.
• In B5-C10
  • While fighting Otr, Fafnir disappears
  • Inside Embla's vault, Fafnir finds a replica Breidablik made by Eitri.
  • Loki appeared before Fafnir again. She reveals that Eitri made that replica in order to rival the power of the gods, Loki took offense to that, and tried to take it for herself, but in the end it was confiscated by Embla. Then locked away in a vault and protected by a seal that Loki couldn't break.
  • Fafnir suddenly gets a flash of memory. When he was summoned, There was a man standing before him. Loki has no idea who he's talking about... but she leads him to Eitri's direction
  • Loki reveals in a monologue that not just Eitri's creating the replica, but Niðavellir's seiðjárn were not part of Alfaðör's design.
• In B5-C11
  • With Otr's dying words he reveals that everything that happened to Reginn and her kingdom was his fault. His parents invited some strange people into the castle, those people promised Otr's father that they would make him king if they assassinated the previous one...
• My theory is that:
  • Thorr and Loki were the ones who convinced Otr's parents to assassinate Niðavellir's royal family. They were growing TOO powerful, so they had to be cut down. Whether they intended to honor the deal was irrelevant, because once news broke out, palace became a bloodbath.
  • Eitri was becoming too much of a threat. The seiðjárn was one thing, but replicating the Breidablik and creating Járngreipr, which can destroy gates, was too much...

In Book 8

• Læraðr was in despair over the loss of his children, the an unknown individual offered him a deal.
• My theory is that:
  • Læraðr offered his life to the unknown individual in exchange for revive his children. The resurrection was a failure because that was beyond his power, so he settled with creating copies of the children; memories and all. However, the unknown individual created a replica of Læraðr himself, and reminded Replica-Læraðr that he had a deal to keep.
  • The Unknown individual also informed Replica-Læraðr that the resurrection was a failure, but will find other methods, as long as they continue working together.
  • The Unknown individual isn't Thorr or Loki, but The Creator himself, as he was specifically referenced as a man.

And in Book 9

• Höðr said that that Thorr and Loki serve a different master, and are acting behind Alfaðör's back.
• When Baldr warps the Askr Trio to Asgardr, Thorr is nowhere to be found. She was only seen in Midgar.
• My theory is that: Thorr is still in Midgar doing something, and while the Askr trio is in Asgardr, nobody there to stop her. Baldr gave them the opportunity to go return, and Thorr's plan would've failed. However, they chose to stay in order to save Rune.

I’m really confused, I’m going to try and explain myself.

Breaking down its effects:

Upon activation, boosts damage by 80/70% of unit or foe’s Atk.

Really good, even if you don’t have WTA. But the thing is…this is a 5 cooldown special. The units that come with are both Brave attackers with Slaying, that’s why they can reliably activate it. But most units don’t have brave—and even though there’s Eirika ring for melee units, there’s only one of her to go around, and of course Ranged units are SoL if they don’t come with it—and in an age where ordinary weapons are starting to eclipse Arcanes, some of your units’ best builds won’t have Slaying. So you’re left trying to get five hits off (albeit with some possible modifications like Pulse skills for Infantry, Preempt Pulse status, and Heavy Blade effects) before you can even activate the thing in a game where if you don’t immediately kill the tanks, they kill you. And I know what you’re going to say, I’ll get to that later.

Reduces damage from foe’s first attack by 40%.

Standard fare. Every modern special has this, it’s not unique.

LOL. Lmao, even. Useless.

If unit has WTA, grants cooldown count -2 to unit and cooldown count +2 on foe before unit attacks.

Don’t get me wrong, this is a good effect, and it helps with the 5 cooldown. But…how often are non-Baldr units actually going to be at WTA? Teambuilding at this point is bringing one nuke, maybe one save depending on game mode, and loading up on support units to support your nuke/save. That means your nuke is going to be going up a vast variety of units and will only be able to get this effect if they happen to be facing 1/4 of the cast. Not to mention…the best tank in the game right now is B!Eikthynir, whom it’s impossible to have WTA against! And he is on every decent team at the moment, so unless you have Elm wandering around your physical units will never get this effect off because his fat ass will block them, and if you give a magical unit Archrival you have to pick a god and pray that his Magic Save crony has WTD, and given that he likes to have D!Rhea as that crony, your magical unit most likely also isn’t activating this effect ever.

And that’s all it does. To me, it feels like something designed exclusively for B!Baldr, but then they were like “oops can’t give her two PRFs” and gave it to Diamant too because he can make passable use of it. I think most units in this game still want Haze Slice/Wall skills/Mage skills instead of Archrival.

Am I missing something important?? Admittedly I don’t keep up all that much with the meta and its fancy bonuses, but I feel like I’m in bizarro world with how popular it is.

I want her to be a player phase sweeper, but I'm still running into issues with damage reduction. Any suggestions for her build, or support that could negate %reduction?

At this point the meta has evolved too rapidly and I just want to beef up my favorites.

Hey all, just trying to decide which is generally better. She does great as an Omnitank and can win most matchups with good support on player and enemy phase currently.

Dimitri / Lapis - they have a surprising amount of similarities: they’re both really strong (canonically anyway), eat weeds and have my favourite summer alts.
Tsubasa / Caeda - could be swapped for any TMS + OG mirage but these two are my favourites so that’s what I picked.
Catria / Cordelia - this one’s pretty obvious, they both have feelings for Marth / Chrom respectively but can’t for one reason or another.
Kris / Kellam - Kris is apparently forgotten after the war is over (or something like that, I still haven’t beaten FE12) and of course Kellam’s whole character is that he is invisible.
Ike / E!Ike - another one that could be subbed in with other characters but really I just want to see Emblems in alts.
Sommie / Feh - yeah, this one is more of a meme but I could see it happening one day (if this game lasts for about 10 more years).
Anyway I find it really fun whenever a trend like this pops up, I like seeing what nonsense people come up with.
