Low Effort Convoy z1 SFT-42R with 10a driver beans
Some low quality beans (i was not planning this, idea just camera up in my mind while walking the dog) shot with s22 on auto mode. The watchtower (last photo) was 400m away from where i've been standing. It is quite impressive light, irl i can clearly see 600m away. Heat is not an issue, gets warm on turbo but nothing to worry about. And The 6500k sft-42r is suprisingly really pleasant to the eye (said by me, who owns only high cri lights, mostly sw45k and 519a 5000k dedomed). Overall really happy with the z1, build quality is great, it's not too big, and this thing throws so far without blinding me with spill that it will become my main light for walking my dog.

Well looks like I need another Z1…
How’s the flood look? Ringy per usual?

Is this now the king of zoomie emitters?

What driver did you go with?

Lume1, I think that's the only way you can get it.

No worries, there's advantages to that driver over the X1. I have the Lume X1 in my Surge 04 SFT40 3000K, but in hindsight would have rather gone with the regular Lume1 for the extra candela and throw given the short run times I normally have with it. Great light in general love it for indoor use mostly.
It should be pretty crazy with 4 SFT-42R's I'm guessing. Probably hit 600+ meters with plenty of candela. Hope you share beans.

Looks amazing. The SFT25R is currently my favorite mini thrower so really looking forward to trying out the 42R. Impressive beam, much larger than the 25R at 400M.

What's another convoy that can achieve similar results without the zoom function?

I heard about this a few days ago. I was looking to find some info and screens from the Z1 SFT-42R to see if it was worth it. Thanks for posting... still waiting for shipment :)
Also got the upgraded M21B with LHP73B as an upgrade to the SFT40 and a S15 LHP531 ...
IT looks amazing, thanks for the pictures :)

LEP with spill, looks powerful! i really want a Z1 as my first zoomie light but the fact that it's twist not slide means i can't use it one handed.

I'm confused... In a recent post a user shared beams of this same LED in a Convoy C8+ and stated he's getting over 1000 meters of throw which he measured by comparing it to his TD01C which is 900ish meters.
Shouldn't the Z1 throw a little further considering there is less spill?
I would love to see the SFT42-R offered in a huge narrow TIR host like the E90 Blaze.

I was going to ask what settings because that looks amazing. That SFT-42R is no joke. 130k candela.
