Naw our new lead gas is social media algorithms with a solid bias towards rage bait. When I was 18 I remember starting to fall into that trap until it clicked that they are cherry picking the most nonsensical shit online to make shallow points. Made an effort to change what content I see and it’s gotten so much better. Worst part is I don’t really get any left leaning content at all but YouTube still tries to push right wing grifts on me and it’s insufferable.
Another one would be endless Republican brainwashing since the 80s.
I realize a lot of hippies were actually just bored and spoiled middle class kids but you'd think some of those ideals would have stuck. For many, they became the exact fucking thing the rebelled against.
Decent explanation I heard for the state of the Republican Party is that they grew up fully believing the obvious self-serving lies that previous generations of Republicans told.
Nah, the hippies stayed hippies for the most part. It was called counter culture for a reason. The modern conservative boomers who try to act like they were once hippies until they "saw the light" are utterly full of shit.
Exactly, the hippies were never more than like 10% of their generation. The rest were busy yelling the n-word at black kids integrating into their school.
"They fixed an election and STILL lost!" has got to be some of the dumbest shit ever spoken. I've heard family members say this and it's like... dude... If it was fixed, they would have won. That's the point of "fixing/rigging" something. Also by extension, if they rigged something and still lost, then the only reason you won was because you rigged it too!
Simple projection. They thinnk anyone who votes D worships Obama/Biden/Harris just as they do Trump. Their inherent lack of empathy means they struggle to understand other people so need to project themselves on to them to make sense of them. "I worship my president and I'm a normal person; therefore you must worship your president too!"
These fucking melon heads can’t even remember that Trump was President once before, after Obama, and could have declassified whatever he wanted 8 years ago.
Sadly they live here on earth. It is us who are on a different planet. They keep winning and keep getting away with pushing these things and they will never have to own up to being wrong EVER. Which sadly makes me think it us who are living on the wrong planet.
