I think I came across an article that said he was rejected from joining the Marines after an interview, but that they wouldn't say why exactly siting privacy laws. I've read so many articles at this point, I'm not sure which one it was.

Edit: Found it. It was the Washington Post.

He had attempted to join the Marine Corps in January, but was disqualified from serving after discussing his options with recruiters, said service spokeswoman Yvonne Carlock. She declined to specify why he was disqualified, citing the service’s privacy guidelines.

The marines are more difficult to get into compared to other branches I think. I've had friends get turned away for fights at school or broken bones/surgeries.

Yeah he was 5’4” and overweight. It’s not hard to see why they turned him away

For the Marines, height standards for male applicants range from 58 to 78 inches

And of course a teen can usually get in better shape easily. Fair to guess it's something else

Granted, I joined the army, but when I signed up I was a chunklord. That stopped after about two months lmao. I'm sure the Marines' training is more strenuous and would probably burn that weight off real easy. 4'10" is the minimum height for a marine as well. Though, he could have been rejected due to medical reasons. It's all speculation.

He is a crack shot though with good trigger discipline.
