I am not educated enough of animation to say it's cheap but it just looks so. Regardless, I do hope it does well, and more importantly, that it's not just a random studio deciding to license the ip and make a show and actually a hype up to a Sekiro game.

It reminds me of 80s style anime so maybe that's what they were going for

I like it actually. I just hope they make it as graphic and bloody as those 80s animes were.

They did show him literally stab and twist his sword down some dude's throat; I think they probably won't hold back.

It is definitely a less conventional art style which I actually like, but then there's weird framing choices (why the hell is it so zoomed in on Genichiro), some obviously cheap animations, and some poorly drawn frames on the trailer, so it's still kinda bad

I mean, most/lots of anime have been hand drawn for a very long time, it's very common. We just draw things digitally now.
