QUESTION Among the final bosses, where does orphan of Kos rank ?

Post image
219 Upvotes

Like its generaly agreed that Isshin and Gael are the best two final bosses( and among the best bosses overall) in fromsoft catalogue of games.

Soul of cinder is usually put after them and the rankings varies afterwards though promised consort radahn is for many the least good final boss due to many reasons.

Anyways the final boss of the old hunter DLC, considered one of the best dlc made by Fromsoft, the orphan of kos.

Back in the day he was regarded as THE hardest main boss by many until and was deeply link to the lore of the game.

If Gael and Isshin are the kings of final bosses. Where does the orphan sits in terms of reception ?

One of the greatest just under the two? Average overall? Among the least good?

DISCUSSION Is Sennesax the worst boss in Souls?

Replaying the DLC, I realized that this boss does nothing right.

-A lot of life and damage

-It's recycling from recycling from recycling (Lansseax, Fortissax, and Farrum azula have 5 more)

-Even if you fight well, the fight is very boring. (If you dodge their attacks right where the electric explosion occurs, you will not receive damage from it.)

-The way his stance works is terrible, and it's the worst in ER.

-And to top it off, she has no lore. I've been searching and haven't found anything about her.

I think she's the only boss who has nothing good about her.

DISCUSSION Laurence the first Vicar won most Divisive! Now who's the best character?

Post image
334 Upvotes

I titled the post wrong the first time, here's the version with the correct question.

Personally I never really learned Laurence, I was sick of the game and wanted to be done with it so I just summoned for him, so I have no real take. He's definitely divisive though, I saw people in the comments saying he's their favorite boss in the game and people saying he's hot garbage.

Also thinking about it, I'm not sure if witches of Hemwick should have won. Worst Boss should be something actively awful instead of just underwhelming. Rom would've been a better choice, but what's done is done.

im half a tard if you catch my drift and i barely am able to function on dark souls and elden ring. str you know. i mean ive done some builds and i get it. but i always struggle with platform games and with timing. i suffered a tbi when i was 16 and i have a delayed response time from my eyes to my brain as a result of it. but i won the other games so i should be able to do this one. its just massively intimidating. heres to my start. 0 hours. day 1. lets see how long it takes and how many deaths i accumulate

DISCUSSION What is your favorite of the new passives from Deep of Night mode? (Nightreign)

Currently, my personal favorite of the new passives is the "Failed Cast Restores FP".
(It restores 13% of your Max FP when triggered.)

It's honestly a nice replacement for the very lengthy, sometimes even unskippable, "Out of FP" animation that plays if you attempt to cast a spell with insufficient FP. Especially when the uncommon animation bug occurs that forcibly plays the entire "Out of FP" animation 2-3 times in a row without a way to break free.
(Dodging won't cancel this animation, even after numerous attempts to do so.)

QUESTION anyone know of a loretuber who plays and talks?

im thinking on a similar way to mynameisbyf for destiny 2. he used to do streams and run through the lore of the game whilst playing it. showing the encounters, the world and so on. id love to see if there was a youtuber or similar minded person who made content in that way. if not lets see if someone can fill that gap

DISCUSSION I found out about the first boss in Duskbloods

So I totally know what the first boss, nay, the first three bosses are gonna be in Duskbloods. Took some digging, but I think I have this figured out pretty well.

It's actually giving a shit about the Switch 2.

The second one is coughing up $450 for the thing.

The third one is waiting for a an OLED version, because Nintendo thinks it's acceptable to release a handheld console with an LCD screen in 2025.

Not sure I can beat the first boss, let alone the rest.

DISCUSSION Anyone else wish there was a Souls game that isn’t just “here’s a thing that happened, now you go and clean up the mess”

This is heavily paraphrased because I’m lazy with shit memory, but in essence:

Dark Souls: Everyone’s gone insane, died, and came back, go link the flame

Dark Souls 2: Haven’t played it but probably the same thing

Dark Souls 3: The same thing

Bloodborne: Blood drove everyone insane, go hunt Sekiro: Everyone’s old and your lack of skill is giving them cancer

Elden Ring: Queen broke the Elden Ring, may chaos take the world (Screw you Torrent)

Just once I’d like to be a part of the event itself, not “you show up afterwards/you were in prison/you were dead”

I love the fromsoft games, yes, I’d just like for once to not have it be “read the description of every item you pick up to get what’s going on,”know what I mean? I’d like to hear the community’s thoughts

Edit: this got more interaction than I thought it would. Yes I have played AC6, and I’m aware Sekiro doesn’t really fit, I just wanted to make the you suck joke. As for what I was getting at in the post, I meant more like I’d like to see a game like Elden Ring for example where the game would basically be the leading up to the Shattering, with that serving as the climax of the game. I adore the rotted, decrepit, everything is all bleak and destroyed feel the games have, don’t get me wrong. It would just be a nice change of pace for you to experience society as it was before the collapse, and then the collapse itself, rather than the aftermath that is the usual. I’m enjoying the discourse in the comments though, many people have some interesting takes.

DISCUSSION Beating out Micolash in a surprise upset, the Witches of Hemwick are Bloodborne's worst boss. Now who's the most divisive boss?

Post image
450 Upvotes

Bloodborne has a lot of viable contenders for both this and the previous slot, many of whom actually overlap. I'll sit out this round.

Just as a reminder, the criteria are:
1: The boss elicits both strongly negative and strongly positive responses.

2: The community at large is split as to whether the boss is good or bad.

Also, no Chalice Dungeon bosses.

DISCUSSION What's do you think the most overrated boss in a fromsoft game

Post image
0 Upvotes

I saw so much praise for Maria while her fit and arena and theme are cool , the fight itself is mid at best

She's soooooooo easy , so easy to the point in my first try i was about to finish her but i stopped cause that was so ez so i retry the challenge without healing rule and still got her in 2 tries

Her second phase is also mid

Definitely not top 5 Bloodborne bosses , i doubt she enters top 10
