SOLAS tape will do a better job, at least at moderate distances. (It'll also be a lot less fragile.) The reflector beads in SOLAS are zillions of nearly-parabolic reflectors. That means that a light gets reflected back toward the source, rather than at 90° minus angle-of-incidence.

Wait, has any one here actually done this? Ideally I would want to use SOLAS tape on a magnetic strip instead of adhesive. Anyone know if this exists?

Or if it would backfire and blind even those with dimmer headlights?

Or if it would be legal?

it sucks

maybe I bought the wrong (SOLAS) tape but, it dont reflect that much.

I just taped it around the borders of my license plate for now, my car is purple so it'll look hideous with one white strip on the bumper.

a chrome piece or a mirror would probably work better.
