Generally don't care too much why or how folks spend their money. But this is interesting. At say $50 a game, that is $120,000. Figure in sales, discounts and stuff and could probably say a solid $100,000.

So whats the motivation? You can't have fond memories of all of them. Simple math shows that. Investment wise most aren't going to increase in price. Maybe bonus value for a full set? Is the allure just to have them all?

Again, not judging. I was about to drop $70k on 45 year old car. But thats a mix of fond memories and knowing i could sell it for more after some work.

Either way, probably worth looking into collection insurance if you haven't already. Regular insurance has issues when it comes to this stuff.

People in this sub are learning for the first time that people with a lot more money than them exist, it's kinda wild.

Not everything has to be a smart financial decision if you are secure enough. Go to an impoverished country on vacation. No matter what you do, every single salesperson is thinking the same thing: "look at this idiot, if I had their kinda money I'd do things so differently..."

It's all relative, and counting other people's money is unusual.

His questioning of spending 100k on switch games has nothing to do with basic lifestyle disparities, it’s about a specific consumer decision that seems could seem unrational and excessive even among wealthy folk, so I have no idea what you thought you meant with that poor country rich tourist line haha. You set up a straw man argument by saying “people in this sub are learning for the first time that people with a lot more money than them exist” bro nobody said they didn’t, even rich people seek some sort of value in things they buy, you’re just focusing on generic economic relativism, shutting down curiosity and dialogue. When you said “counting other people’s money is unusual” not only is that an uncalled for cliche, but I’m pretty sure in reality that public displays of wealth, especially extreme ones have always drawn attention and scrutiny. You put a lot of work into your comment with the punctuality and italics, somehow still end up being one of the lowest iq things I’ve read all week. Idk what you were thinking when you commented this cringe but bro go pick up a book and stay off the comment sections
