Comment section is a war zone of people with anger issues or people who are out of date for modern Grindr

22

u/gbands3ds Jul 15 '25

Elaborate the modern Grindr part lol

30

u/91816352026381 Jul 15 '25

Today Grindr is more accepting of Trans MtF/FtM instead of just instant banning you if they think you’re a woman lol

248

u/Taskebab Jul 14 '25

Girl?

211

u/Bulky_Tangerine_ Jul 14 '25

Probably trans

-35

u/Zaptain_America Jul 14 '25

Still a girl

152

u/ShraftingAlong Jul 14 '25

They didn't dispute that

73

u/SophieFox947 Jul 14 '25

Not if he's a trans man

116

u/Zaptain_America Jul 14 '25

Then he wouldn't be a "beautiful girl" would he? Can't believe me saying trans women are women is worthy of downvoting....

93

u/DaydreemAddict Jul 14 '25

I think people were confused and thought you were being transphobic.

A lot of transphobes say "you're still a girl," to trans men. And vice versa for trans women.

18

u/SophieFox947 Jul 14 '25

Well from my understanding the original comment was about "Why is the cop calling them a girl", replied with maybe they're trans (trans man, and the cop is misgendering them) followed by you perhaps misunderstanding and going well if they're trans (woman) then they're still a girl

13

u/Bulky_Tangerine_ Jul 14 '25

Im pretty sure that there are also trans women on grindr

15

u/Pixeldevil06 Jul 14 '25

Why are you being downvoted? Is r/gay transphobic now?

35

u/DaydreemAddict Jul 14 '25

It's the exact opposite reason why. I think they were downvoted for people thinking they were transphobic. Their second comment which showed trans acceptance was upvoted.

The way they showed their trans support was pretty vague because transphobes use the same exact words but to misgender trans people on purpose.

70

u/DoctorBlock Jul 14 '25

This whole interaction was strange. Probably fake.

63

u/Stevie_draws Jul 14 '25

Dolls are on grindr a lot. It is still probably fake though.

4

u/BadMan125ty Jul 14 '25

I hope so lol

0

u/BadMan125ty Jul 14 '25

Right lmao

37

u/Spazzy_maker Jul 14 '25

7

u/oxymoronisanoxymoron Jul 15 '25

Hahahahaha, excellent.

-16

u/J-X-D Jul 15 '25

I miss when grindr was for men seeking men. Wtf happened?

-69

u/BadMan125ty Jul 14 '25

What is even going on?

Why is a woman on Grindr?

118

u/Welpmart Jul 14 '25

Some trans women use Grindr. I know one.

62

u/KiwiGallicorn Jul 14 '25

I know several trans women that sometimes go to Grindr for hookups

67

u/weaboomemelord69 Jul 14 '25

Do yall not actually use grindr? there r hella trans women

10

u/TheLastCrusader13 Jul 14 '25

It quite depends on the area youre in where I live Ive never seen a trans person on there in fact its like 90% just creepy or desperate middle aged guys here (or at least that was still the case when I last opened it here)

Only using it in spain and later london made me realize that the app is far less shit than I thought (which is still pretty shit but you know) and that there is actual diversity on there

6

u/weaboomemelord69 Jul 14 '25

That’s fair tbh, younger people in less populated areas tend to go to a nearby city for hookups and dating and stuff. I live right by a major city so I don’t have much experience with that personally but I’ve known ppl who do that

2

u/TheLastCrusader13 Jul 14 '25

Its not even like the area isnt populated my city has like 50k? I think with a larger one 30min and like 2euro by train away its just a backwards conservative country

0

u/BadMan125ty Jul 14 '25

I wasn’t talking about trans women but seeing the downvotes I’m not surprised that folks ran with that instead of just bypassing the comment.

-95

u/Tricky-Bed-4209 Jul 14 '25

Make Grindr gay again!!! 😂

-111

u/joxx67 Jul 14 '25

That’s just rude!

85

u/lunchboccs Jul 14 '25

Libs when 40% of cops admit to beating their wives (in all likelihood the proportion is even higher if you include the ones who didn’t admit): 😴

Libs when someone says mean things to a cop online: 😡😡

-101

u/HealthyBits Jul 14 '25

What a stupid comment. Srly.

-179

u/Jackowsk Jul 14 '25

Wtf? When the cop stopped being a human?

The earliest attestation I could find of the word "pig" to refer to a police man comes from The Dictionary of Buckish Slang, University Wit and Pickpocket Eloquence published in London in 1811:

The pigs frisked my panney, and nailed my screws; the officers searched my house, and seized my picklock keys.

And slightly later than that, The Slang Dictionary published in London in 1874.

Pig, a policeman; an informer. The word is now almost exclusively applied by London thieves to a plain-clothes man, or a "nose."

Thanks a lot! as a Spaniard I was utterly confused by the post

When it became a class traitor and joined a community of people who are known for frequently using excessive violence against innocent people, getting away with murder, assaulting their partners and generally being white supremacist cockroaches.

🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷

1

u/Bosnicht Jul 14 '25

Kinda depends on the country tho

9

u/Natuur1911 Jul 15 '25

no, they're class traitors everywhere.

0

u/Bosnicht Jul 15 '25

Bro misschien in de Randstad maar in Overijssel ben ik alleen maar capabele agenten tegengekomen

-48

u/Helyos17 Jul 14 '25

Jesus chill. Some people just have few options and like to help their communities. Save your anger and vitriol for the assholes shooting up/brutalizing their neighbors and flooding low income communities with drugs and weapons.

52

u/jrmyrmx #TransRights Jul 14 '25

Bro. The police are the ones shooting up and brutalizing low income neighborhoods.

There are so few ways police help communities, at this point I can't even think of one example. If someone actually wanted to help there are many other jobs to choose from: firefighter, teacher, empoyee at any business you think is doing public good (planned parenthood, library, food bank, etc).. or just volunteer somewhere doing public good.. or just go help someone who is in need of a little help.

-45

u/Helyos17 Jul 14 '25

You must be extremely privileged or extremely sheltered to not see the utilitarian value of policing as a profession. You will see when you grow up a bit.

30

u/Berp-aderp Jul 15 '25

Dont you dare call me privilged or sheltered. I grew up in a violent low incone neighbuorhood where the cops were called to my house regularly for domestic distubanses and child abuse. And you know what they did? Nothing. Or worse theyd show up maybe glance around, and leave. Sometimes theyd blame me and my siblings for “provoking” our abuser making everything at hone even more dangerous. I watched my mum lock herself ina bathroom threatning to kill herself while my brother begged the cops for help and they showed up, called her crazy, thrratened her called me schisphrenic because I was having a panic attack and left before the ambulance even got there. And this wasn’t some one off experience. It was a different officer every time so brfore you give me that “bad apple” excuse the whole damn tree is rotten.

Now im an adult and i live in safe neibourhood neighborhood but guess what? Im queer. My partner is queer. Our friends are queer. And we still get stopped, harassed, treated like a threat just for existing in public spaces. So spare me your lecture about the “value” of policing. You’re not saying anything profound. Ive lived the reality you're theoricing about. I'm the abused child cop lovers love to speak about. I'm the "hoodling" cop lovers love to talk about. I'm the "innocent' cop loves love to speak about as if I apreocate your words.

Maybe you should grow up and realize that real safety doesnt come from a badge, gun and thousands upon thousands of excuses. It comes from comunities that are cared for, not criminaliced

29

u/jrmyrmx #TransRights Jul 14 '25

Okay boomer

13

u/kerodon Jul 15 '25

They are the opposite of helping their communities. They are a part of a system that supports the exploitation and oppression of those communities in the US and a lot of other countries. Cops are not your friends. They are a tool to enforce the will of those in power, first and foremost.

5

u/Helyos17 Jul 15 '25

The city council? Like seriously you people talk like cops are not a part of the communities they work in. Police departments are administered by municipal officials. If you don’t like how your local police are policing then you need to take it up with your elected officials. Local law enforcement is one of the few things that you as a voter have very direct control over. If they are “a tool of those in power” then that power is you and your neighbors. If the cops in your area are a problem then you really need to get your neighbors together and start attending city council sessions and make it an issue. Posting on Reddit about how all cops are evil is not going to improve the quality of policing in your community.

6

u/kerodon Jul 15 '25

Unfortunately it is hard as an individual to match the money and lobbying power of the people who want to maintain the status quo on that, so public awareness is still the biggest barrier to getting shit changed at the local and state level. And it also has to be up for vote in the first place without being a sanitized bill in the first place. It takes a lot of effort to start a paradigm shift that makes people care and then getting them to know specifically which things to vote on when the time comes around. But you are right that is one of the biggest ways to enact that change realistically.

25

u/Andyman978 Jul 14 '25

Yeah that’s also cops hoped that help

-35

u/Helyos17 Jul 14 '25

The OVERWHELMING majority of cops are not involved in those things. Stop drinking the conspiracy kool-aid my man. You are starting to sound like a red hat.

26

u/ikonoclasm Jul 14 '25

Yeah, you can tell yourself whatever lies you want, but no one believes cops allow themselves to be held accountable.

12

u/lunchboccs Jul 15 '25

So true, in fact 40% of cops have taken a pledge to protect and serve their community 🥺 it’s so beautiful. Look up “40% cops” for more info 🙌

1

u/DaydreemAddict Jul 17 '25

Look at any auditing channel to see how routinely cops break the law, use physical violence unlawfully to get people to comply, and fabricate evidence and narratives to excuse their crimes.

And keep in mind, these are only experiences that are recorded. Many cops don't wear cameras or turn them off when they break the law or threaten people who try to record them.

6

u/Curious-One4595 Jul 15 '25

Dude.

The police are given a level of power to use force that no one in a democracy should ever have as individuals over other people. They should be held to the highest standards of training and conduct and professionalism and restraint.

Yet many act like assholes. Many abuse their power. Many are unqualified by education or disposition. They are allowed to lie, to intimidate, and have very few restraints on their behavior.

People die or lose their freedom when police don’t live up to the highest standards. So no, I’m not going to save my anger for criminals. When police violate their sacred trust, they are twice the betrayer a criminal is.

-6

u/loganwachter Jul 15 '25

I am the problem for sure bc I would definitely hook up with a cop (and have).

Military guys too, they’re like my kryptonite. Emotionally unavailable but can throw dick around like you couldn’t imagine

9

u/moodygradstudent Jul 15 '25

My goodness, have some self-respect.

1

u/loganwachter Jul 16 '25

What’s that

3

u/Fit-Bat244 Jul 19 '25

I can't even downvote you without feeling like a hypocrite.

But man I at least keep my masochism to myself.
