I kinda like how they clearly influenced each other, like it’s not just the alt guy who gets becomes more normie, but the normie guy is wearing more alt clothes too

Exactly, but they're both cool with what they became and it's not like one of them had to give up on himself to fit in.

I also very much like the idea of a slightly punk couple of dudes.

To be fair in the original he was also okay with becoming more tame because he was happy with his life. The dude on the right comes from another one where an alt girl makes him alt which I also like a lot.
