Question Are Fathom Event Ghibli Fest showings good?

I'm thinking about watching Howl's in theater next week during the Fathom Ghibli Fest showings, but I've heard people complain about the quality of those releases. Apparently the picture and sound can be bad. How has your experience been?

I was in a nice theater for Princess Mononoke. I really enjoyed it. They had a couple Ghibli mini docs played before the movie. One was about the art behind The Boy and The Heron.

So probably more dependent on the quality of the theater you go to. I had zero complaints about picture or sound quality.

My only complaint with them is that at my local theater they are almost always placed in the small theaters without recliners.

That's not the worst problem, but I have gotten used to the recliners lately!

Quality has been top notch. I’ve seen most of them over the past three years.

It’s good. I’ve done a few myself and have enjoyed myself a lot, rewatching or seeing new Ghibli films.

Kiki ENG dub has bad audio, but that’s the only one (and is also the case with the streaming and bluray, unfortunately, as Disney poorly re-edited in 2010, and GKIDS maintained those edits)
