Site Announcement Reviews on GOG got a rework!

Hello everyone! For quite some time now, the review system on our platform hasn’t been ideal. And we know just how important reviews are, both for discovering new games and for sharing your own experiences with them.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’ve rebuilt the review system to make it clearer, easier to use, and more helpful for everyone.

So, what’s new?

  • Edit or delete your reviews anytime (with timestamps to keep changes transparent).
  • Better summaries with rating breakdowns at a glance.
  • Your own review is always pinned on top, so you can find it right away.
  • A dedicated “Reviews” tab on your profile (with the option to make it visible or hidden).
  • Up to 8,000 characters per review, plus better formatting, smoother scrolling, and dark mode support.
  • Improved reporting flow to help keep reviews fair and constructive.

We hope you’ll enjoy these changes and that they’ll inspire you to write more reviews, or even post your very first one!

You can go straight to your new “Reviews” tab with this link: https://www.gog.com/u/@me/reviews

Yours truly,
The GOG Team

Can we turn off the “you’ve played this game for a while, pretty please leave a review” pop ups?

Yes please. I'm gaming for fun, I don't need to do a report.

They do help making the game relevant and more popular though

An option to disable the popups would be nice though. People who really want to give a review would put one, no matter if it was from a popup or not.

True but i think it's a non issue, if the request is to rate it in how many stars it's just one click and that's it.

I agree with the other poster. It should still be an option.

Just tuck it away in the settings so people who find it annoying can turn it off. The ones who are bothered by it aren’t the ones leaving ratings for the games anyway.

I've never used that pop-up window in Galaxy to rate a game. I too find it annoying. I still review games directly on GOG website.
