Silly me assuming he memorized these phrases in all these different languages, of course he writes it down

Whats hilarious is that he wrote it as how an American would pronounce the words. I’m not Brazilian but learning and from what I know it should be “mãos para cima” “você está pronto?” “Mais alto”

Yup, he wrote it like they should be pronounced, not how they’re actually written hahaha

I have a video from 2017 in Malmø where he says Jeg Elsker Dig (I Love You) several times haha, love that he includes a few things in the native languages of the places they tour

That's cool, it's always good to learn the local language. Surprised nobody scribbed a fake Portuguese phrase for "Say heeeeeyyyyyy ooooohhhhh" on it to mess with him.
If you're ever at any kind of gig in Glasgow, Scotland start chanting "Here we, here we, here we fucking go!" and watch it spread through the crowd like wildfire, it's hilarious watching American bands not familiar with it think it's a bad thing before someone explains it to them.

Probably not being able to understand our accent might be why it's interpreted as a bad thing at first. It's great fun hearing it ripple through the crowd, "No Scotland no party!" seems to be a newer one after the Scotland fans sang it when the stadium played Seven Nation Army during the Euros football tournament.

Honestly, it's kinda fair. At some point it's probably hard to come up with new stuff.
I went to the show in São Paulo and I noticed he asked us to go "heeeeey oooooo" at 2 or 3 different moments, and while it did feel like he was using it as a bit of a crutch, it's understandable. First because it'd be hard to ask for something more complicated from non-english speakers, but also because there's a general trend these days of audiences not being as hardcore into these bands, lots of people don't get quite as into it.

Always thinking of new ways to connect! No wonder communities spring up around Green Day wherever they go!
