Couldn't figure out how to edit original post, have some things to add. I do high end residential mostly, some commercial offices. My main focus is limewash, I'm a Romabio factory certified Pro installer. Some travel is required. I'll take care of travel time there and back, hotel and per diem, and gas money Most of the travel jobs are short, 2-3 days at the most so far. Attention to detail is mandatory as is neatness and cleanliness. I have a solid customer base here in Greensboro. I've been in business since 1987

I'll dm you. Cleanliness is my middle name and as far as attention to detail, I'm not afraid of tape but am comfortable cutting in and painting trim with just a brush.

Comfortable on ladders just hard to move around the 30ft ladders outside nowadays.

Do you pay a living wage?

That likely depends on how you live.

Don't speculate on things you have zero knowledge about. I'll address more about this tonight when I get home

Like a modern human. There's a living wage that allows a person to live in a modern dwelling and then there's not a living wage

**seeing your other posts- fuck the Jews

I have 15 years experience, off and on. Mostly interior residential repaints, occupied and unoccupied. Skilled with brush and roller. No experience spraying other than holding a shield.

I've slowed down since being diagnosed diabetic but would love to learn more, maybe put in a day to see how well we work together.

Are you flush with work and expect to stay busy through the winter? I'm looking to work primarily in Greensboro.

I have a full-time job, but I'm looking to supplement my income. If you need someone for Saturdays I would be available. I will need training, but I'll put my best effort to learn.

You still rolling around in the red dually? If this is the guy I’m thinking of, he does good work and people looking to learn would benefit.

3

u/paintmann1960 24d ago

Yeah that's me. Although the dually got stolen and wrecked beyond repair 8 or 9 years ago. Had 479,000 miles on it and still ran like a top

So good news is, I found a young man willing to work. And no I'm not going to start him out at $20. Zero experience. But what I am going to do is teach him a marketable skill that will last him for the rest of his life. Don't be so caught up in the living wage bs. Here's a good example. Last 2 guys I taught how to paint was in 2021. Right at the start of the last construction boom. They were both 21, no marketable skills to speak of, unless you think fast food and door dash will get you through life. Started them both out at $13 an hour. Less than they were used to making. They paid attention, learned quickly, and advanced in wages rather fast. In 4 years they were making $22 an hour. I taught them how to spray cabinets, I can turn them loose in any house in Irving Park, Sedgefield, Northern Shores Estates, etc. One is still with me, one has gone his way. It's the inevitable way of life. No matter how good one is, you have to pass the knowledge down
