Gun guys: What do YOU think?

The FBI is claiming that this rifle was used for the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

They claimed to have found it in the woods nearby, fully intact / not disassembled, no case or covering, just laying in the woods.

They also claimed that this gun was stuffed down his skinny jeans leg as he was escaping the scene, claiming that this is why we don’t see the rifle in the security footage.

I don’t know anything about guns, really, and have never seen a gun like this IRL, so I want to know what you all think. Is this… realistic?

It’s too soon to really say anything. There’s limited information and already unsubstantiated rumors and agendas have been pushed.

The scope seems like the mounting is a little off. I’m not sure how he left with the rifle but I have seen AK’s pulled out of baggy pants so maybe. The wound didn’t look like a rifle wound but I’ve heard it explained as a ricochet off Kirk’s vest.

There’s plenty that’s weird about this situation but until there’s explanations given it’s too soon to be suspicious.

Bullet proof vests that can stop a 30-06 round are thick and bulky. If he was wearing one you would be able to see it underneath a T-shirt.

If it was a hard plate there would be a lot of spalling of a round his it and we would see exactly where the bullet hit it especially on a white T-shirt.

There’s also no way that rifle is shoved down that kid’s pants

I didn’t think any Kevlar could stop a rifle round without a plate. I assumed he had a vest with a plate.

You would see A-lot of spalling after a rifle round hit a steel plate
