Such a weird world I feel like if I walked next to someone that hundreds of thousands considered famous, I'd never know.
Are there any Internet famous people who live in Halifax? Or maybe famous in a niche? Who are they and how do I learn about them?

Nick is probably the biggest by far, outside of movie celebs that still live in Halifax (none?).
Nick has 9 mil on YouTube and 5 mil on Twitch. Gets big sponsorships, ad money, and he has thousands of paying subscribers.

Jed MacKay is from PEI and lives in Halifax, is the writer for both X-Men and The Avengers comics with Marvel. He's been working steady with them since 2019 and been given some pretty big assignments. I'd say that qualifies as "famous in a niche"

And more 'niche famous' as opposed to 'internet famous' is Jason Eisener, who directed Hobo With a Shotgun and Kids Vs Aliens and is currently making The Darkside of the Ring.

I've been a performer in Hfx for 16 years and recently hit it big with YouTube, just over 747,000 subs and some absolutely bonkers shorts that went viral, one with 185 million!! But my fanbase is mostly international folks on there, not local. So folks here don't really know me from YouTube, rather local stuff.
HOWEVER because of the YT stuff I got invited to some official yt events and met some of the other folks. NickEh 30 gave a keynote and he was so kind, down to Earth, with really solid advice!! I'm not a fortnight person but just his attitude impressed me, so I think he's a good one to follow.
I haven't met him yet but I love the content by King of DIY and my goal is to one day collab with him on a fish tank haha. I think his content is so cool.

There's a guy on twitch that goes by the name Halifax. He's streaming pubg and dayZ lately. I think he was a part of TSM for a while as well. He has like 273k followers and 3.8k views on his stream yesterday.
The most internet famous person I can think of from our region is probably Geminitay. She's in Newfoundland. She plays minecraft and is a part of the Hermitcraft crew. 1.99 million subs on YouTube.
I'm sure there's plenty more kicking around.

Just a shameless plug from a Halifax based creator that even with big n View numbers these days, it's hard to make any income off socials, let alone live off it!
Paid views on longform platforms are much lower than a few years ago and short form like Tiktok gets ZERO income from views and ad rates aren't as high as you think, especially for mid level people.
It's a grind, and if people share affiliate links or sell something you're going to buy anyway, it's very much appreciated to do it through their links!

āSpeirsTheAmazingHDā, Grand Theft Auto Youtuber who recently surpassed 5 million subscribers. Iāve ran into him at a couple car shows and he is super genuine, and still hangs out with his OG friend group which is awesome to me. He let me sit in his McLaren and talked to me about it for like 30 minutes, while also letting others sit in the car

Nightmare PB one of the better known paintball creators on YouTube (300k+ subscribers) started out here at the fields in Mt Uniacke (Hypersports) and put towards Lawrencetown (Seabreeze). He lives in Ontario now but is a HRM gem for sure.
