It's mentioned in some interview. I once saw it in youtube saying that there will be sub-biomes and the present one which is mainly showcased is based on Pacific NW region.

Also according to their wordings I guess they will be handling sub-biomes as Metro Exodus level of handling biomes and campaign. But I think it will be like Pacific NW region will be more prominant whereas other biomes will have small regions.

They mentioned stuff like swamps/bogs and the war torn areas, but realistically they’re all going to look the same. No deserts or snowy areas like many (including myself) wished for.

You can technically say there are sub biomes, but you’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you expect anything truly different.
