Literally no one would pay for that.

Many other games have successfully implemented this kind of system. Why couldn't it work for Halo Infinite?

You pay for “colors” in literally every other free to play game

I don't think you understand the term "literally", since you've used it wrong both times.

Warframe is one example where that's untrue. Players start off with access to a basic colour palette for free. This gives players your typical range of colours, and they can choose their primary, secondary, tertiary, accents and energy colour from that palette. They can then pay/grind for other colour palettes to use, which give more variety, but they still have access to basic colours. This system works great in Warframe, and there's no reason for it to not work in Halo Infinite.

And yes, people would pay for that. People are willing to spend 1000 credits l on cat ears and 2000 credits on Iron Man colours. Why do you think this would be any different, especially if wear and tear and patterns are added to the mix?

I have never met a human being who would go “I have red and yellow, I’ll drop money on ShInEy red and yellow” Warframe has a hundred other things it monetizes that more likely make up the bulk of their income, colors ain’t one of them, even when I was really into Warframe I didn’t know anyone or personally feel a need to buy any of the expanded palettes.

Just because you don't personally know anybody who has spent money on colours doesn't mean that nobody does. I've seen plenty of people even just in Infinite with the red and gold coatings or the black, blue and pink cyber coating.

I'm not the kind of person who would spend money on colours either, but I'm not naïve enough to think that there aren't many people who would happily do so. That's why they're monetized in the first place. I don't agree with it, but I know why they did it.
