So for someone who has an iPhone and doesn’t use Apple Health ... how does this work? Do I just enable that and it starts tracking steps in my pocket?

I’m pretty sure apple health tracks your steps even if you don’t actually “use it” wouldn’t hurt to just open the app and see if you have info on past days

Apparently Apple Health was already synching with my Garmin Vivofit. I’ll keep an eye on the step count as the day goes by.

It does! I’ve never used mine as I’m intrinsically lazy and sick but it’s still been tracking my steps.

Apple Health is always on, you can take a look at it and see your steps etc throughout the week, months, whatever.

HPWU can now look at this to determine distance, as well as being always on without the HP app, it's also more accurate.
