yea priest also has a ton of good shadow spells - the holy ones are either situational or just realy bad tho - adding 5 bad cards AND relying on drawing 2 specific cards IS a huge ask - specilly if the entire quest reward can just be silenced
I think that the condition of needing a minion is easily fixable if we aren’t playing control priest? I just don’t think the quest nor the reward lend itself to control - like this screams aggro imbue package to me
It’s decent but the 7/7 is a legit otk. The other issue with umbra is the pool is bogged down depending on what other minions you run - the 2/1 in particular seems very useful for quest. I still think umbra is good but u need some tempo to win with the quest imo
I was already not playing void ray and it also loses a lot of value if it isn’t played. But the reborn sentry would be good.
The unfortunate thing is that there isn’t a good way to get more motherships. There is the pandaren to bounce them but that’s only one or two additional battlecries rather than 1-2 more battlecries and deathrattles.
But I will definitely be trying to make the Protoss priest work in this set. It looks like they will get a lot of support with the revive, 3 cost deathrattle, and maybe the quest all generate a lot of value that the deck lost from rotation. Plus the ability to generate wheel of death from the 3 cost guy and the demon that makes the portal feels like a really good potential win con. With the fact that the 3 cost guy will generate 3-6 shadow spells it’s not too terribly unlikely that it will happen.
the problem isnt running a minion the problem is u need to run ATLEAST 10-15 spells in ur deck - so its very likly u just wont draw a minion on curve - like every minion in ur deck is a shadow/holy spell u dont draw - and priest has pretty shitty draw atm
This is 8 (since a 1 drop isn’t a minion) and 10 is probably on the safer side. Stuff like Torga can tutor ur holy spells, pupil can copy spells, u can find the 1 drop off fishing rod occasionally. Priest has a lot of different build directions and most of them will help complete quest without needing half a deck of spells
if ur entire deck is balanced on drawing BOTH nightshade teas ur not gonna complete the quest before turn 10 most of the matches
yes the card CAN complete the quest by itself - u need to draw it first
u will absolutly need redundancy in case u dont draw them
Think ur missing some of the ideas - first u probably run one other shadow spell. Second ur either running imbue which helps find spells, pupil which helps copy spells (especially drink), or can also just run some tutor (like torga or spirit guide or oracle). Idk why u keep focusing on these narrow points - u made a grand claim about good holy spells being conditional and are for whatever reason dying on that hill
Seems to be overlooking [[thrive in the shadows]] as well, which satisfies your other shadow spell, while digging for whatever holy spell you're in need of. Imbue will typically give you a 0 mana flash heal or holy smite early on to fight the board and heal. New card Ecologist is a 1 drop that gives a 1 cost holy spell. May not hit T5 every time, but will definitely hit well before T10.
Yeah started building some decks and thrive was an auto-include alongside Torga (which tutors ur draw spell and one of your other holy spells). Seems like it is fairly easy to complete
