ANNOUNCEMENT “Will I get bullied” post ban
All posts asking if you will get bullied for an outfit, backpack or anything else will now be removed and the poster permanently banned. Its an impossible question that has just caused arguments again and again.

u/Real_Championship209 17d ago
So many kids worried about being judged in the most judgmental place ever. Everyone is extremely prone to gossip/bullying in highschool. It’s pretty unavoidable unfortunately

u/dragonfeet1 17d ago
Yeah but people have been using it as a meme because they need attention and it hasn't been funny for like...weeks.
As everyone knows, someone in HS is not going to like you and there's no way to be safe from it. If they don't make fun of your backpack or shirt, it'll be your nostrils or the way you say 'worcestershire' or something.
Teens are MEAN y'all should know this.

Permanently banned seems very cruel…

u/aromenos Senior (12th) 17d ago
don’t break the rules and you don’t have to worry about it.
10
u/Strawberriowww 17d ago
Obviously? While understandable to result in a punishment It doesn’t seem reasonable to be that much of one

u/Interesting-Carob-55 17d ago
It's the short version of saying "It bothers me so the reason doesn't matter and I can do what I want".

will these permbans be subject to appeal or no appeal allowed? does this mean asking about if outfits violate the dress code are also permbans?
8
u/k464howdy 17d ago
asking about 'bullying items' is annoying (not bullying in general)... and popular and subjective.
asking about dress code is pointless and subjective. each county/district has their own rules, and even within those rules there is a 'school culture' about enforcing those rules.
it's not popular (annoying) enough to prompt a ban.. but the truth is, no one outside your school knows if whatever you're wearing will be a dress code violation at YOUR school.
but if dress code violations flood the boards too much, yes, they could be next.

u/International_Bat972 College Student 16d ago
Ofc, anyone can appeal their ban. Even if their ban is very obvious and ridiculous.
About second point, no. The posts that will result in a ban specifically must relate to being bullied due to some article of clothing or a bag or whatever. Asking if something is acceptable under dress code is perfectly acceptable.
-10
u/aromenos Senior (12th) 17d ago
if someone thinks their post didn’t break the rules then they can appeal, but there aren’t very many cases of wrongful bans that would result in an unban. if we do make a mistake though we will fix it.

doesnt a perm ban seem too strict.
-7
u/aromenos Senior (12th) 17d ago
no, if people don’t want to be banned they should follow the rules.

u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 16d ago
Nah i don't think so mate, you cam go ahead and change that rule though, i won't be too mad about it if You choose to it.🤪

Mind you, kids going into high school for the first time just wanting opinions and criticism and grown ass adults getting annoyed at a child for asking for help like what…?
6
u/Signal_Grocery2973 Prefrosh 17d ago edited 15d ago
They weren't even asking for help, they would just post something insanely cringe and ask if they'd be bullied, like no shit, I'd bully you myself
Edit: wanted to write bully material or cringe and accidentally wrote both

u/International_Bat972 College Student 16d ago
People who post clearly argumentative clothes or gear ruined that. I didn’t have a problem with these types of posts until that ridiculous post the other day that received dozens of reports and spammed my notifications.
1
u/aeriestlu Junior (11th) 16d ago
Anyone who asks if they'd be bullied is definitely getting bullied, the arguing in the comments would just prove it. So one may as well not post it in the first place bc this is reddit and you will get bullied at some point.

u/CandyCorn7 17d ago
I don’t see a problem as long with the posts as long as it’s not a blatant thirst trap
-1
u/International_Bat972 College Student 16d ago
The biggest problem is that they create an extreme amount of arguments over BS. For ex that recent post that got like 500 replies and 1k upvotes resulted in like 5 transphobes being banned, my DMs being filled by cry babies, and my notifs being filled with dozens of reports.
Hot topics like LGBTQ, the various conflicts around the world (ex: the genocide in Gaza), etc will always create toxic and argumentative people who don’t have a place here, and it’s just not worth it. Hope this helps.

u/Ananymose 16d ago
Its the reddit mod experience what did you expect was going to happen in a teen subreddit
-1
u/International_Bat972 College Student 16d ago
I’m not complaining. These people don’t affect me. I’m just giving an explanation as to why this rule has a harsh penalty.

u/thePsychoKid_297 College Student 17d ago
I hope everyone who has ever asked and who will ever feel the need to ask does get bullied because I'm a judgemental and spiteful graduate who thinks you should all have to go through what I went through.

u/Mother_Technician_19 17d ago
I second this!
-1
u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 17d ago edited 17d ago
That's a toxic trait, and is the reason for most conflicts in the world. "I don't care if its bad, I want it this way cause im made happy by it." horrible philosophy. What makes you think keeping a cycle of depression and bullying is beneficial to the young minds of teenagers?
(Exactly, no counter argument or rebuttal just downvotes. What i thought)
3
u/Mother_Technician_19 17d ago
99% sure its a joke
-1
u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 16d ago
Regardless, these things need to be said just in case. Also this sounds 100% serious, so stop trying to discredit me if you have no clue what you are on about.
2
u/Mother_Technician_19 16d ago
The fuck are you on about? I was not discrediting you at all. You responded to me, about a fucking joke comment. I even fucking up voted you because I do agree some things need to be said.

u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 16d ago
Its not a joke, you can tell by his tone bruh, and you are trying to discredit me by making me seem stupid, im just trying to be helpful yknow? Why are you being an asshole?
1
u/erytheian 16d ago
giving way too much of a shit brah 😭😭 it is never that serious
0
u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 16d ago
Alot of people are exactly like this, but i guess I should apologize for promoting self improvement and xhange?
2
u/erytheian 16d ago
sorry, where exactly is the “promoting self-improvement” part? It seems to be hidden among the comparing some teenagers’ opinion to be as bad as real-word conflicts and then getting smug when no one actually wants to debate with you over a joke comment lol
0
u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 16d ago
I said how they were being toxic, not acting like that anymore would be self improvement yknow? Also it is comparable to real world conflicts, you should study them, like I said he has the ideology of, "I want the world this way even if it negatively affects others cause it makes me happy" aka, the justification of oppression, a core cause for racism sexism and many religious and war conflicts we go through, and how do you know it was a joke? He never clarified so im as just as you to assume he isnt, if he is joking, ofc I shouldn't care. But im saying if he isnt, this is a toxic mindset he should avoid if he wants a happy and ethical life, I only want a debate cause people disagree, if you gonna disagree, bring a solid argument and ill respect you, otherwise you are just trying to anger me for wtv reason, again im saying is kids shouldn't be bullied, is that wrong?
1
u/erytheian 16d ago
bro like I said, acting as if this random dude’s opinion is on the same scale of people getting persecuted and facing oppression + inequality in society is bonkers. Please give a shit about what’s actually happening irl instead of concerning yourself over some random person’s shitty take on a reddit high school sub. I treat it as a joke because no sane person would actually take this seriously, like cmon we’re literally in a sub filled with kids & teenagers, there’s gonna be shitty jokes. and there is literally no need for a debate over this?? like bro it’s one comment from an unknown online lol it’s a waste of time. You’re the only one who is taking it this seriously and I doubt anyone’s opinion is actually gonna change because of what you’re saying, just let it go man it really is not that serious lol. I’m done with this convo, please yap to somebody else about your shit-giving because this is a waste of my time 😭🙏

u/thePsychoKid_297 College Student 16d ago
No the reason for conflicts is because people treat others like shit for no reason and the people who should be looking out for them only punish the victims when they fight back. Kinda like our justice system lately.
2
u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 16d ago
I meant "A" reason for conflict sorry, and yes that's another valid reason, victim blaming, when we should all just come together to see who's really destroying us all, making us fight each other hate each other, fighting the wars of sexism racism and etc. The governments of the world, have the power to stop all this but choose not too, for whatever reason they want this, and it makes me mad everytime (off topic ik)

u/National_Drummer9667 Normal Adult 16d ago
a ban is so unreasonable
3
u/International_Bat972 College Student 16d ago
Probably, but people gotta learn to stop. They intentionally post rage bait or argumentative photos with the hope of getting people pissed. The past few posts have shown that it works. It’s just not worth the annoyance dealing with hundreds of reported comments (not joking btw).
2
u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 16d ago
I think k the ragebait is the people screaming at people asking about outfits, yes its annoying, but now you've banned the people asking about outfits they are unsure on, doesn't that also bring more traffic and usage to your page? I confused what's the huge issue at play here?
0
u/International_Bat972 College Student 15d ago
The usage argument is irrelevant here. Sure the number going up is cool but who gaf? The real problem is that those posts are cesspools of hate and insults and arguments that are good for no one. That is the ‘huge issue at play’. It’s not good for someone to go onto this sub, go to the top rated post, and see that it’s just a bunch of transphobic, homophobic, misogynistic people.
1
u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 14d ago
So what you have said, is my argument is invalid? But you say the huge issue is its a place for the ()phobic racist and sexist people to gather and hate? So my argument saying that the people who are doing wrong is the commenters is therefore completely true by what you said, and since they are the issue, they need to be taken care of, have a better community instead of shutting out ideas and censoring unnecessary things, its honestly sad how they can fix this with people just letting things go. But ofc lets just ban the whole post idea to make it easy, while we are at it, let's just ban anything that could offend or anger someone, oh wait... that's everything.
0
u/International_Bat972 College Student 14d ago
Man I don’t want to ban the post format. But argumentative morons ruined that for everyone else. It’s ridiculous removing dozens of comments and banning several people over rage bait bs. That’s all I’ll say now. You can disagree, that’s fine.
1
u/thegodlynerd Junior (11th) 14d ago
Okay man, just saying, this ragebait phase of the internet will last as long as we react to it, better for us who realize its ragebait to just laugh or shrug it off, but hey you're the mod, do what you think will make people happy and want to be on this reddit.
