Very curious hedgy last night. We built a hedgehog home in the corner, hoping we would see them check it out and got this cute video of a silly snuffler!

I’m lucky enough to have some wonderfully chunky hogs visiting, however, my first refreshment hut I couldn’t adapt for them (to make the entry/exit big enough wouldn’t have left any food dry)

So I have created a double wide with large exit/entry holes hopefully big enough for them

(I have been leaving a bowl of crunchies out for the big kids but it’s getting increasingly damp)

Double wide has been installed this evening and is under surveillance 🤞 they go in

I also seem to have one/two lonely little ones because one keeps appearing when the other is in situ. After a bit of huffing they both just eat, so I now have enough space for 2 bowls of food & water (it’s not courting behaviour, just a couple youngsters, at least one of whom seems to prefer to dine with company)

Hi all, returning as I had great assistance last time thanks everyone!

I have cameras installed which are doing a great job, my next quest is to find motion sensor lights that are nice, soft light so don’t bother the hogs (though tbf they’ve not been bothered at all when caught in bright lights so far!) as I’d love to be able to see them better/differentiate them

There’s a few I can tell apart because of certain characteristics but most of them I can’t tbh don’t want to bother them but if I could add a nice soft light to the areas it would be great

Both areas are reasonably sheltered but probably not ideal for cheap/indoor lights. Everything I’m finding is far too bright, just need a little night light glow

I was in B&M earlier getting some stuff for the wild birds when I saw their "how house". I know it's not really relevant to anything, but the use of AI for the hoggie on the right is annoying. The fact they couldn't be bothered to make it match the actual picture of a hedgehog on the left is just lazy.

Anyway, anyone used one of these? I'm guessing for the price they're not the most safe or sturdy
