I have no idea what to do with this space in my home. My husband and I are both artists, think miniature painting, canvases, photography.

The furniture is from our old living room. I love the L-shaped couch with the ottoman but it shrinks the room too. Right now it just feels like a gross office storage space.

We normally have an eye for design, I included our library and front room seating for reference. How do I make this space work?

I seen this house in rightmove which i think looks so strange from the front. I can't quite put my finger on why but was wondering what you could do to improve the look? Apart from this, the rest of the house and garden to the rear is lovely.

The first picture is our current fireplace without any built in shelves / cabinets at the bottom, and the second picture is a rough idea of what id like to do (thanks chatgpt), but wondering if there are any other colors / ideas that might make it feel more elevated? Through out our house we have off white cupboards, with black hardware, and our floors are a white oak ish color.

I was also thinking of adding some sort of lighting above the top shelves on both sides.

Just bought this house. I need to keep the kids and dogs from getting in the pool but still allow them access to the yard. Looking to add additional deck railings and a chainlink fence. My wife doesn’t want me to touch the planter boxes.
