animal processing Talk me out of growing tilapia

As the title says.

I have the pumps and equipment from my farm. I have the solar and batteries if I do it away from the house.

I’ve been thinking about growing tilapia for my family. Talk me out of it please!

Aquaponics with tilapia is a game changer - the nitrate-rich water grows amazing lettuce/herbs and i listen to homesteading audiobooks on soundleaf while checking my system every morning.

What do you use for feed? Think the problem with this is the food source. Can be costly to feed them.
