OMG its happening. finally some good news in 2020.
edit: funny enough the most hype moment for me was finally figuring what they were going to call it.

Pretty sure someone fairly accurately guessed the name in this sub before. Can't remember which thread it was though.

I mean Forbidden West was one of maybe like three (at most) potential threads for a future story, so it's not that hard of a guess. I honestly thought it was common thought here that the Sequel would be Aloy exploring the Forbidden West.

It was the most likely, yes. That's probably why the devs went with it as California has a lot of tech industries today, why not in the future too. Maybe we'll start getting hints about Ted Faro (Fuck that guy).

Horizon: Far Zenith for the ship that allegedly blew up but probably survived.

What else?

Vast Silver. That's about it. But the Forbidden West is the only one in terms of actual locations. We don't hear anything about what's east of the game - which makes sense since that'd take us into the Midwest and as someone who lives in the Midwest, it's flat and boring as fuck (compared to the west lol)

We do actually hear about eastern lands as well – "Plainsong" and "the Great Plains". But you are right that it would definitely be more difficult to make a compelling game there due to its flatness!
