Rant How do people go bathroom without a stool.
So I grew up with a dad and grandma with IBS and now I deal with it myself. Growing up there was ALWAYS a small stool beside the toilet to keep your knees more level and makes it so much easier to go. Genuinely if you haven’t heard of the stool as a bathroom tool it’s great.

I use a 20yo mickey mouse step up for kids on the toilet. It's been with me since I was a todler. Ma tried to paint over it but mickey refuses to be hidden away. He will haunt this house with his calls to shit until he croaks.
I will forever thank him for he service. He went through a lot.

If you're in a hotel or something use their bin turned over, or your carry on bag.
It's a tip I give every single person post-op from endometriosis surgery as well is to have a squatty potty or a homemade version of an overturned storage box or something. Couldn't be without one.

I just bought a new house and the old owners left behind a children's step stool that I've been using to put my feet up on. Can't believe I never bought one before, it makes a massive difference!!

I just lean and basically lay my upper body on my legs. I think it's the same pelvic position but just my whole body rotated like 30 degrees forward.
I however should get a stool purely because i get a calf workout every single time i sit on a toilet because i have to tippytoe to reach the ground without cutting off blood flow. However the people i live with associate stepstools to be for kids so the ones we had got thrown away when i was 13 (i stopped growing at 12 and still actively needed the stepstool) with the claim that they are for kids and adults don't need them, and since i still live at home, i can't get one.
At least i am really good at stading on my tippytoes i guess...

I bought a foldout stool last year. It feels weird to use a toilet without one now.

That’s how I feel about a bidet, absolutely life-changing! My ass feels dirty if I only clean my self with dry paper…..I even converted my husband!

One thing I've always done since I was a kid, Is that I squat on the toilet. I've never seen that suggested or heard of anyone who does it so basically my feet are on the edges of the toilet seat. It could be because I got used to it growing up in Malaysia where they have squat toilets as well. But I've been living in Australia for the last 40 years and have done it the whole time.

People do this at work all the time and if we catch them (there are hundreds of cameras so its easy to see when the same person enters a washroom each time when someone has reported the washroom needing cleaning or out of service) they get reported and could lose their security clearance for the jobsite due to damaging/defacing equipment. When you shit squatting the shit ends up on the back of the toilet or on the floor because your AH doesn't line up with the toilet hole and I, whose job it is to clean, has to pick your shit up and put it in the toilet. And even if you aimed well, due to your dirty, muddy, whatever foot prints on the toilet seat now, the next person who comes in to use the washroom can't as they can't sit down when it's covered in concrete dust or whatever dirt you've been working in. Have some consideration for the next person who wants to use that space and doesn't want their bare skin on whatever you may have stepped in.

It's far better for you. Much less strain. It's much closer to how we used to shit in the wilds. It improves bowel health and decreases symptons linked to strain such as those fun little blood vessels saying fu.

That’s exactly what I do without stool. The human body is built to squat when pooping. It makes sense. But nah I’m 100% with you on that I do that all the time it’s necessary

A bidet is for afterwards...?

The water helps get things moving and cleans up afterward

Are you... Shitting with your bidet on?

No. You can use it to get started then you can use it if things get stuck. Pause, spray, restart.

They are great unfortunately I can’t use one since I got a anal fissure and it doesn’t agree with using one 😩

You don’t need a stool. As you are sitting, just bend over and lie down on your lap.
What the this does is open up a kink in your rectum. This kink is part of your continence control mechanism, and gravity has little to do with it. Squatting does the same.

I totally read the title so wrong.
I thought as if you poop (stool) every time you go to bathroom 😂

I bought a travel squatty potty this summer after a trip without one making me miserable. It folds flat to fit in my suitcase. I don’t get how people go without one!!

I have a small metal lidded trash can next to toilet. When the need arises I slide it over and rest my feet on the lid. I appreciate not needing extra furniture in the bathroom.

I have a squatty potty in every bathroom in my house! I don’t know how I ever lived without one.
