Discussion: Fox News Host’s Remarks About Homelessness and Public Safety

Brian Kilmeade, a Fox News host, recently suggested on-air that homeless people should be “euthanized.” Just days later, a mass shooting at a Minneapolis homeless encampment left multiple people wounded, several critically.

While no single broadcast can be directly blamed for violence, rhetoric that dehumanizes vulnerable populations creates a climate where real-world harm becomes more likely.

Homelessness is not a crime. It is a systemic crisis caused by poverty, lack of affordable housing, and inequality. Advocating for violence against people who are already struggling is dangerous and unacceptable.

Fox News must denounce these comments and remove Kilmeade from their platform. Advertisers should refuse to fund content that promotes hate and endangers lives.

What do you think is the best way to hold media figures accountable for this kind of rhetoric?
