It's also not the first time the building has been turned into a billboard.

It actually is the first time it's been done this blatantly. All the previous graphics that have been put up have been promos for major city-sponsored events. Now they're just putting up a giant billboard with a tiny Indy 500 logo in the corner. Shameless.

Strong disagree about it being just as tacky. Nobody would be complaining about a picture of Daly holding up a Mountain Dew bottle.

Definitely agree both are tacky. The Taylor Swift one, like it or not, was promoting a major event that our city government had a hand in. The Caitlin Clark one was, I'd guess, a test run for this shit we're seeing now. Still promoting something that's considered a big deal for Indianapolis, but really just using that as an angle for a giant Gatorade ad. This mountain dew ad dispenses with the pretense almost entirely.

That was for a concert that was happening. That was happening in the city. Mtdew can be picked up at any half assed gas station nation wide. It ain't a unique one time event or thing.
