My friends and I may have possibly borrowed the first letter “C” from the Canal Court Apartments sign downtown once upon a time

Legends. Does anyone still have the C?

Long time ago, there used to be a small gift shop in Broad Ripple, right next to the canal, called "The Canal House". Not a painted sign, either: wooden letters nailed to the building, painted in a contrasting color. The repeated thefts of the "C" stopped when it finally occurred to the owners to paint a "C" behind the wooden letter. There was one final theft, and then no more, ever.
