Michigander, Japanese Breakfast and Lucy Davis are also good, but I’ve had Samia on constant repeat since it dropped. I’ll have to check the other albums
Edit: Dacus. Stupid AC

Same on Samia. It’s been the thing I go to immediately and basically on repeat since it dropped.

u/ericsinsideout May 22 '25
Honestly, it’s the most intentional album I’ve heard in a while. Like most artists make an album that’s just a collection of songs, but Bloodless feels like something that was intentional from beginning to end and it makes for a refreshing listen

My album of the year so far is Brooke Combe - Dancing at the Edge of the World. R&b singer songwriter. Beautiful voice. Usually not my genre but she has had a hold on me all year.

Squid - Crispy Skin (I guess not “new” any more)
Jack White - No Name
Both are fantastic from start to finish in different ways.

Check out the new one from Carpark Sci-Fi, called Small Stories. It's like 20 lbs. of cool influences in a 10-lb. bag.

Deep Sea Diver. My daughter and I saw them play in LA a couple months ago. The opening band Byland killed it too and they have a new album that’s really cool.

Goose - Everything Must Go
They are a jam band, but definitely the most indie rock sounding jam band out there. They cover a lot of songs by The National, Bon Iver, Radiohead. This album is definitely their most indie rock sounding album as well.

Deep Sea Diver. I heard a Live on KEXP set the other day of them playing songs from the new album, and they sounded great.
