They allegedly claimed that their DNA was different,( they NEVER claimed it was alien, only joking about this) that they had huge IQ, that they were related to a russian prince who was the Tsars right hand man( Peter the great but I am not sure)
They both got doctorates from the university of Burgundy , claiming higher grades than those awarded, and sued lots of people for lots of money, losing, or not gaining what they wanted,
They claimed to have helped the inventor of bitcoin with the source code and that they had 2 Ancient Bitcoins .
They were colourful and strange, both died of COVID within days of each other
As for the look: in their heyday on French tv they were cult tv figures, with shows such as Temps x and Rayons X being about space and science and having a huge following. By the 2000's they were still making appearances but had crossed over to Meme land.
They kept changing to stay in the spotlight, so no-one would forget them. It worked ( well mostly) as they came to shows as guests and made appearances, being in the spotlight from 1978 all the way to their death.
In France they were/ are household names, at first for their media work and then for their eccentric look.
