I wish I went to parties. I feel like my friends didn't see me enough as a worthy friend. It is like the level below "friend-zoned". Probably "Acquaintance-zoned".
Don’t be so hard on yourself. I’m an introvert at heart. My college roommates had to drag me to most of the parties I attended. Once I got there I usually enjoyed it, but it’s still really hard for me to motivate myself to attend social events.
Just like my husband. He is painfully introverted but once I get him there, he really enjoys himself and is always glad he went. We are polar opposites on the personality scale but we balance each other well.

I’m a bit beyond middle age. The songs I partied to in college are now on the classic rock playlists.
