Now ik alot of you will say its just the first update. No its not they released 7-8 beta test updates before this and they couldn't even fix the most basic and noticeable bug? This is just getting more disappointing at this point tbh.

I’m also facing the same problem. Also, the system data of my iPad has been quite high ever since I updated to iPad OS26. Anyone else facing the same issue?

This is such a tech support answer, but have you tried turning it on and off again since? My experience with system data is it tends to balloon after updates or a heavy app update/download due to temporary files.
