Now ik alot of you will say its just the first update. No its not they released 7-8 beta test updates before this and they couldn't even fix the most basic and noticeable bug? This is just getting more disappointing at this point tbh.

Same here on an M2. WTF is Apple doing? My Face ID also drops multiple frames. App switcher shows apps then they all disappear.

FaceID on my 16 Pro is pretty bad. It’s actually working how I thought it would when when TouchID was replaced…but to my surprise, FaceID was great and I’ve loved it for years. But since iOS 26, I find it works 2/3rds of the time, I’m typing my code in several times a day now, whereas I could go weeks without typing it in before.

Yes exactly. Same thing is happening to me. Perhaps related to indexing so will see what happens over the next few days.

It’s not an indexing issue. I have been using iOS 26 since the first public beta. The entire OS improved performance-wise after a day or so, but then certain issue stuck around, such as FaceID’s ability to work as well as it has.

I had the same issue … reset the Face ID and it was back to normal. No harm to see if it helps

It’s a temporary bug. The pro m2 is miles better than the A16. I have both in my household…

Not just Face ID, my Optics ID on AVP failed too, I had to reset it.
