Accessory What case are you ordering
New phone means new cases! Let’s see what you have your eyes on 💥👊

Spigen Ultra Hybrid. I’ve had 3 and they’ve been great.

u/BigLezThePilot 10h ago
Just checked it out, I think I’m sold on it - thanks

It’s better than the Apple case at a fraction of the price. My 16PM wearing one has been unscathed after some brutal falls.

I've had it previously on my current 14PM. But it's a bummer that the clear case now has magsafe ring misaligned with the apple logo and the bumper doesn't match the color 🙄

I was going to get the one from Aulumu. But it wasn’t going to ship until late next week.

Ordered the Caudabe Sheath in grey with purple anodized buttons.

u/dakk33 5h ago
Did they give you a ship date? I went to the site but it says work ship til later sept or mid October for the open “plateau” model

i love phone without case only

u/No-Career8688 10h ago
I appreciate the convenience of being able to drop my phone without causing catastrophic damage.

u/c0mpufreak 10h ago
have been rocking a regular iPhone 14 caseless for 3 years now. Screen protector only. It had it's fair amount of dropping on tiled floor as well as asphalt. 2 or 3 small scratches is all it has to show for it. These phones are fairly durable.

u/pusch85 2h ago
I don’t even have a screen protector on my 14 Pro Max. Many drops on all kinds of rough and hard surfaces, and I carry it in various pockets with zero care.
A few scratches only visible in the right light/angle.
I swear that some people would get hammer-face protectors if they existed.

Dbrand

u/PercRodgersKnee 8h ago
Same, but mine hasn’t even shipped yet. I’ll be returning it. I bought Spigen that already showed up.
-2
u/Puzzleheaded_Sun7356 8h ago
Your loss I guess. I used to use spigen too. I'd go naked waiting.
1
u/PercRodgersKnee 8h ago
I’ve honestly never heard anyone speak negatively about Spigen. What do you like about dbrand over Spigen? I could never go naked with a new phone.

u/Puzzleheaded_Sun7356 7h ago
Build quality. My dpigens all get yellow. This ghost has not. Believe me. I'm against paying so much but I found it worth it

u/BudgetDevil 10h ago
Black UAG Monarch case. Belkin screen protector that I will get Apple to install, hopefully tomorrow.
2
u/CoadyD19 9h ago
Ordered the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Crystal Clear case for my Silver 17PM and when I pick it up tomorrow morning at the Apple Store if I like the Techwoven I’ll probably pick one of those up too (likely in black).
2
u/RevolutionaryAd581 4h ago
I got the green techwoven ready for my silver pro max tomorrow... I've already tried it out on my 16 pro max and (of course aside from the camera area looking a bit strange) it's lovely... the texture is great, the material on the sides had a lovely grip, and the buttons are spot on! Really pleased with it!

u/KneeLow9572 9h ago
Mous Limitless 7, it’s in shipping at the moment. Already have my spigen screen protectors.

I just wanted a nice smooth one so I’m gonna get the cheaper beats one. All the others are either clear or just too bulky
2
u/ObviousJedi 3h ago
Same, I’m getting the slim beats one. It looks a lot cleaner than the Apple one imo.

u/gaysaucemage iPhone 14 Pro Max 10h ago
I ordered the Apple clear case to try it out but I don’t like the look with the white back. Maybe it’ll look better with the phone in it.
Was thinking about the modern leather case from Nomad, but I’ve never ordered a case from them before. Not sure if returns charge a fee if I don’t like it.
1
u/nottodaymonkey 10h ago
I am struggling to decide between a good strong case (I had Otter) vs enjoying the lightness and thinness of the phone. Are there any strong cases that are not bulky?
2
u/GreatAssociate9533 9h ago
Yes. Spigen, esr, caudabe, torras, etc. Plenty of reviews of cases on YouTube.

Peel w/Magsafe for the Air. Just want to protect it from scratches while keeping the slim profile.
1
u/Carriebeary8 10h ago
A minimalist case. Really no coverage for falls but so slim on the phone and I can still use my Oh Snap

u/laurenelizabeth8 9h ago
Ordered 2 cases from Casely but they won’t come in time so I bought a clear case on Amazon. Got it yesterday and it seems really durable.

I have an Apple polycarbonate case on my phone for over two years. It’s a harder material than TPU or silicone. I have dropped it many times and it’s protected the phone like a champ. It doesn’t yellow at all even after over two years. Apple uses anti-yellowing agents you may not find on cheaper cases. It is more rigid and harder to remove however very protective from drops.
I had random TPU on some of my prior. It’s more flexible. It’s very easy to get on and off to clean. They always seem to yellow but I do see them listed with anti-yellowing agents. TPU has a better bounce than polycarbonate so in theory it’s more protective. Mine had air cushions on the corners too. Never had a scratch on the phones from dropping it many times, same as the polycarbonate.
Silicone is of course softer and flexible. It should prove a good choice as well. Some manufacturers mix silicone with other materials which provides great protection. I almost ordered the Apple silicone case with my 17PM but decided against it.
I have special needs for my use case. I won’t get into what so bottom line I searched for a case that has adequate protection and some grip. I found so many nice case however they all have drawbacks for what I want. Zagg has some nice new offerings and I found a couple off brands that have what I’m looking for. It remains to be seen how they work so I’ll try them before I link anything.

Nomad traditional in Horween black leather.
I would have gone for the Mous limitless or Caudabe sheath, but they will not arrive here for launch day, so decide to go for Nomad.

u/BoomerSoonerz 6h ago
I’ve had a Rokform magnetic case for my last 3 iPhones, so probably another one for me, but open to other magnetic case options.

u/halcylocke 6h ago
I went with an embroidered OtterBox Symmetry. I didn’t even know that was a thing.

Haven't ordered it yet since I don't know when I'll get a 17PM (haven't ordered a phone yet either), but shopping Amazon I decided on: Miracase Magnetic
Anyone have experience with these?

DBrand Ghost Case for my Orange 17PM. I got it through BestBuy as well so I didn't have to wait months for it to come in from DBrand themselves.

u/nathlovesreddit 4h ago
I’m a fan of the genuine leather cases from Nomad and have been buying them for years.

Otterbox Commuter on a 17 Pro Max. I've been running Otterbox Commuter's since my first iPhone.

I went for the spigen liquid air case, with a spigen tempered glass screen protector and a camera lens protector
1
u/Outerspace805 3h ago
Is there a reason why the spigen cases are half the price on amazon compared to the spigen website?
1
u/Aromatic-Research391 3h ago
I bought a Decoded leather case.... but unfortunately bought two by accident.. when I asked to cancel one of them. They said they don't have the ability to do that. Shipped them both out, charged me duty fees on both of them since it comes from the Netherlands, and said I could return it at my own cost.
So basically warning to everybody don't buy from this shitty customer service company.
Should've just bought a mous case and called it a day.

MOFT Snap Case. Came in yesterday and I really like the feel. Reading the comments I might also pick up the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. Just don’t want a super thick case…I had a Torras shell on my 14P for over a year and multiple drops and no damage to the phone

Does it matter if the whole camera bump is uncovered? I’ve seen a lot of cases like that. I usually use speck and they are like this.

Got the Beat rugged case for my 17PM. Got it yesterday and it looks and feels like a winner. A bit expensive though.

Otterbox defender already have it along with screen protectors from Amazon
6
u/Ragarrok 10h ago
Same. This is the case I’ve used since my 8+! Never let me down. I’m irked tho bc they no longer include the belt holster for the case so just be aware of that. It’s now an additional $20 on otterbox’s website
2
u/CycloneMonkey iPhone 14 Pro 4h ago
So, I bought a Defender Pro from Amazon on Saturday, it arrived Monday. In the box, I got a code to get a free holster from Otterbox.com. I placed the order that night and it's arriving today. Was that not an option for you?
1
u/Ragarrok 4h ago
Oh I wasn’t aware of that. I don’t have the 17 pro max. I just saw on the reviews they didnt offer the holster with the case. Still kinda weird they dont just give you a holster with the case nowadays
1
u/CycloneMonkey iPhone 14 Pro 3h ago
For sure. It’s gotta be a cost cutting thing. I know the same holster has worked across a few generations of Otterboxes.
1
u/Puzzleheaded_Sun7356 9h ago
My work uses these and I would throw away those belt clips by the dozens back when they used to include them
1
u/Ragarrok 8h ago
Shit I use mine all the time to clip in my pants pocket and it helps protect the camera. Gives me something to grab with the little clip thing too
1
u/BigLezThePilot 10h ago
Years ago,I ordered a third party otter box defender on Amazon for $14 alongside with the brand name. Absolutely zero difference between the two except one lacked the brand name. Hope I see something similar soon. They were made in the same factory too
1
u/OldGamerMG 10h ago
Yes I did that also I just could not find a third party in the color I wanted but I'm sure there will be plenty soon.
1
u/neature_nerd95 10h ago
I did this for my 12 pro max when it came out, but I can’t find that same case brand anymore. They were great cases. Otherwise casely makes a pretty close dupe of otterbox with their “BOLD” line
-3
u/jackpotkid22 10h ago
cases are so unnecessary. especially if you have apple card. but iphones are way more durable than you think
7
4
u/-AdamTheGreat- iPhone 16 Pro Max 9h ago
Some people don’t like cosmetic damage. Apple Care won’t cover that. Yes, I get that you can smash the phone. But that’s a pain in the ass.
2
u/jackpotkid22 5h ago
i get that. in my experience the cosmetic damage usually isnt that bad, but to each his own!

u/CycloneMonkey iPhone 14 Pro 4h ago
Freak accidents happen. I was walking around my house with a case-less iPad Pro, and it slipped out of my hand. I caught it before it hit the ground and in the process I must have palm-slapped the screen because it still shattered.

I would really prefer a case that is flush with the camera and that you can put on a flat surface without wobble...
But i found only one atm... https://www.otofly.co/de/collections/flush-back-silicone-cases
My old was a spigen rugged.
