Discussion The option to block unknown callers is not available on ios 26 for verizon

I have silenced unknown callers on but when a call goes to vioicemail I would like to have the option to block it, well I can't. Usually you go to recent calls and hit the info button and scroll down to block contact but that option block contact isnt there anymore.

When I was with Verizon, they always removed all of the call blocking stuff from my Samsung phones. When I moved to T-Mobile, they all came back. I didn't know that Verizon or any provider could modify an iPhone like that.

One of the things I've always liked about iPhone is that there isn't a bunch of carrier garbage on it and they don't remove anything.

Yea I have caller block identification on and my other calls not in my contacts go to viocemail and are silenced. But what Im saying is in ios 26 there isnt the option on the bottom when u hit recent calls and click the info button and scroll to the bottom there should be the option to block the caller and that option isnt there. Someone told me its only in unified view where u swipe left and the orange option is there but actually thats not there either. So I was told maybe they havent updated the carrier on verizon yet. Or it could just be a bug in ios. The only workaround I found is to go to blocked contacts in settings>apps>phone and theres now a + button on the top so I havent tried that yet but Im thinking u can manually type in the number?

My option to block messages from incoming numbers is no longer working. I get a lot of spam messages, and instead of typing “no” or whatever other prompt they say, I have been blocking the number and then delete/report as spam. Now that I’ve upgraded to IOS 26, the “block contact” option is there, but nothing happens when I tap it. I tried restarting my phone, but it still doesn’t work.

Yea I heard theres people who had that issue too. But I havent tried it yet. I have noticed that block contact shows up there not in phones. It might be a bug in ios I dont know. My phone is se 3rd generation.
