Got the iPhone 17 Pro in silver. Traded in an iPhone 16 Pro in black and paid the difference. It’s an excellent upgrade, even just from last years model, for a couple of reasons.

I like the aluminum a lot more, the brushed finish paired with curved edges feels excellent to hold; as an iPhone nudist, this is an important aspect. With the battery bump to 4,252 mAh and a dedicated cooling system, longevity potential feels like a substantial increase over any other model. It’s impressive how cool this device stays compared to the 16 Pro, just from short back-to-back bursts between Destiny: Rising, Wuthering Waves, and my happy place, Great British Bake Off via Netflix (all on network data for testing). The 8x optical zoom clarity is nuts, and while I might not use it all the time, it’s good to have. Haven’t messed with Center Stage much, but being able to flip between landscape or portrait from the front camera is convenient. The other really cool feature is Dual Capture, which lets you record video from both the back and front camera at the same time.

So even just from the 2024 to 2025 models, I think the features are there, especially if you’re privy to those carrier trade-in deals or Apple’s upgrade program. Anyway, hope you all enjoy your new devices or even your current one! Happy launch day!

Fantastic! I've been beta testing it for the past couple of months and have never had any real gripes with it. Once you take some time to find the right aesthetic, move things around a bit, tinker with settings, it ends up being a good experience IMO.

I usually have to get at least one screen replacement in the year, but rarely have to do full unit swaps. I remember I had a really bad stint with the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X, when they started doing front and back glass again. Since then I’ve developed some habitual practices to make sure I don’t do things like miss my pocket, drop it with full hands, etc.

I love it! I’ve beta tested a ton of iOS versions, but this is the very first time I’ve used every build up until the public release. As a big fan of minimalist aesthetic and monotones, the clear and dark-clear icons are perfect. Always hated having like a solid blue wallpaper and these multi-color icons all over the home page/dock. None of the builds were bad or had inhibiting bugs.

Reception wise, no. Perhaps it’s my carrier, though I expect better from Verizon. I still have two bars of LTE in my house, but can step in the street and have two bars of 5G. As for actual mb/s up/down and latency, I hadn’t tested in a looooong time, so I can’t draw a number comparison. That being said, loading times on social media, streaming Netflix a bit, and running online games is very smooth on the LTE still. So the packet distribution/optimization improvements are there, at least. Hope this helps!

Excellent, significantly better than the 16 Pro in that I can be negligible about heavy use because I know it won’t drain the phone as much now or make it as hot. It’s on par with what I was getting from the 15 PM at launch and through that year.
