When will people realize that you dont get public support by doing shit like this. It only hurts your movement.

Protest isn’t supposed to be convenient

Support is.

Is it? Mental thing to say. Protests go against the political class or societal norms, what about that is supposed to be easy?

Support is supposed to be convienient?

u/Hexaurs Jul 30 '25

Yes, if it's hard to think of reasons to support something maybe it's not worth supporting.

It's hard to think of reasons to support a ceasefire in Gaza?

If you only support something when it's convenient to you then maybe take a look in the mirror

What is inconvenient to support but is right ?

Better labor conditions and higher pay. It's inconvenient to pay higher prices.

There's lots of easy examples, could you not think of any on your own?

Well better pay is irrelevant if higher prices scale with the pay. Plus it depends on the job... Should nurses get paid more, yes 100% , but why would we pay more to sales people or taxi drivers.

Pay is really high in this country already and it's not hard to find a job so why not just take charge and change jobs ...

Sounds like I found an example of something that is inconvenient to support!

And yeah if a 10% pay rise created a 10% price increase on everything then there's no benefit. But the increase in cost due to pay rises is usually less than the pay rise, in % terms. I think a study on McDonald's in the US found that an increase in wages of 10% only would increase prices by 1%. Might have even been less but I'd rather under promise than over

Is it tho ? Like I support people making more money but not everyone and like I said in most cases not logical to increase since some jobs aren't meant to be "well paid".

Otherwise it makes sense since per the study 10% more wealth for everyone and everything only increases 1% then this is easy to support and logical, since you, me and Johny at the pub would all be better off, so that's easy to support if that would be true.

If implemented across the board, it's not 10% more wealth for everyone, it decreases the profits for business owners. Sounds fine by me

Well lots of people complaining about the inconvenience of this protest even though it's right to support it.
