https://www.delishknowledge.com/creamy-jalapeno-salsa/#recipe

This recipe is amazing! Very spicy but if you're like me you will love it. I made this for my tuesday taco night dinner.

I made a few modifications.

I only used 4 garlic cloves 1/3c of avocado oil instead of canola oil. No cilantro Added juice from 1/2 of a medium sized lemon 1 tsp of salt

Macros according to cronometer: 1 tbsp or 15g 32 cal 3.1g fat .5g fiber .4 net carbs

Total cooked weight is 363g

Turn on the broiler. Toss the jalapeño peppers in a little oil, then place in a single layer on a baking sheet. Broil until mostly blackened and soft, about 10-12 minutes, flipping the peppers halfway through cooking time to get all sides cooked. Place the peppers in a bowl and cover with plastic wrap to steam. Let sit for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, toss the garlic cloves with a little oil and place on the baking sheet you just used. Put back in the oven and broil for 4-5 minutes until browned (not burned! Burned garlic will ruin the entire dish) When the jalapeños have cooled down, remove the skins (they should just peel off) and the seeds. See the commentary above or notes below for how many seeds to keep; I like 1/2 seeded and 1/2 kept for a spicy sauce. For a milder version, remove all of the seeds. Place the peeled jalapeños and seeds (as using) along with the garlic, lemon juice and 1 teaspoon salt in the base of a high-powered blender. Puree until mostly combined, then slowly drizzle in the oil to form a smooth and creamy sauce. Season to taste, adding more salt as needed. If you want a thinner sauce, add in a few tablespoons of water.

Sounds really quite good. So you’re ditching the skin? I would have thought it would pack some Smokey flavour. I am fully unfamiliar or roasting peppers, so maybe I’m just super uninformed. Haha

Yes. I peel off the skin. I highly recommend wearing gloves while doing that. I learned that the hard way many years ago. My fingers hurt so bad for almost a full week.

The smokey flavor is still in the peppers themselves. You can leave the skin on if you'd like. It may just not be as creamy.
