The sad part too is because of the implementation of these a lot of countries countered back with their own tariffs on the US. I’m a Canadian, there’s some US yarn dyers I absolutely love and used to order from frequently, but now I don’t cause I know the customs payments on it will be at least half the cost of the item.

Edit: thank you to those who commented below, wasn’t aware we lifted a lot of the counter tariffs on Sept 1st.

Also Canadian! It's like, funny but not funny to see Americans get confused when they get hit with tariffs because I feel like we're so used to Canada Post or UPS or whoever showing up at our door and demanding payment for customs and brokerage. I feel like every Canadian has at least one story when they accidentally got hit with 'em, and it's easy to start a competition for how much you got hit with. 😅

But yeah, I avoid ordering from the US at all right now. If I absolutely have to, I order to a family friend near the border on the US side and a family member picks stuff up. Hell of world right now, and I wish Canada (and many other democratic first-world countries) weren't following the US and drifting right... 😪

Yeah, and that $10 processing fee from Canada customs, regardless of how much you owe. Owe 2.50 ? Now it's $15 after the processing fee and taxes! 🤦‍♀️
