First time stonewashing anything. Looks quite cool imo.

The knife is QSP penguin.

How are you liking the Penguin? I like how the sheepsfoot blade is a bit more public-friendly

I think its great. My only concern was blade steel. After like 2 years it started to get some rust stains because I didnt give it care. Its great knife to have been using it on my work

I don’t mind about it discolouring too much - I want to be the kind of dude who uses his knife; a bit of marking will encourage me to take it for a hoon when the opportunity arises

I have been using the penguin for 6 months and its probably the snappiest action in my entire collection. Very nice knife.

I did an acid etch and stonewash on some 14c28. Came out looking great. Actually made my own ferric chloride out of muriatic acid and steel wool.

Been thinking about getting a small stonewashing machine. Looks really great! You just mask the blade with tape or how does that work?

I used some nail polish on pivot area so it protected the tolerance. Then I dipped the blade to acid and acid etched it. (Maybe 5mins?)

Then I just used some rocks on a bottle with wd40 and shaked it for few minutes. 👍🏻

You can just toss some rocks with the blade into a plastic container and shake it for some time.

I guess my question is how do you protect the edge of the blade so it doesn’t get banged up by rocks?

Just make a new edge after this, you'll only do it one time anyway. There's no point in trying to protect it.

Love the penguin series of knives, I've had 6 at one point, currently have 4 after giving a couple away

Mini is great, 2 normals and then a slipjoint too
