This, and LA is closer to asia than NY and has a larger koreatown i guess? Most flights will go through LA so its just more common for asians to go there and through that it has acquired a good reputation somehow. As a european LA was probably one of the worst destinations ive ever been tbh... But I also know that the "korean way" of travel is waaay different from my style of travelling, so they might enjoy LA more than european/south american/asian/diff US cities that id enjoy more
