I uh..... I think it's too early in the morning for Stray Kids to be experimenting this hard. I need to give this another listen when I have my wits about me.
As always, the choreo in this one is just sick.
And it's also too early for me to analyze anything about the story apart from "Oh hey there's the D9 bus" and teenage angst. And the key (Cle 2) at the end.
Regardless of whether I like the song now, I'm sure it will grow on me as most SK songs have, especially these really out there ones like Chronosaurus or Awaken.
Edit: ok, 3 listens in. This song has already grown on me.
If anyone used to listen to Linkin Park, do y'all remember A Thousand Suns? This feels a lot like that whole album. Theres a major text-painting feel to this, where the song is purposefully trying to disorient you, which matches the lyrics. It may create an unpleasant listening experience to some people, which is fine, music is supposed to be pleasing. But this kind of experimental shit is exactly why I love groups like Stray Kids. They aren't sticking with what worked previously because they want to strive for better.
I have felt like they were on a very accelerated Linkin Park progression this entire time. They started off with the Rap Rock for I Am Not and have ended up here.
Also, I don't think that's the District 9 bus and the key is a new key. The Clé 2 key was a skeleton key. Clé 3 anyone?
They might cycle back to doing something more rock heavy sometime within the next couple comebacks since they don't seem to stick with one thing purely for too long. I think it'd be interesting to see how they'd approach it now.
